Fabric Shaver

This shaver far exceeded my expectations. So much so that I just ordered a second one, in case the first one ever breaks, because I don't want to ever be without one! I previously bought the one by Oreck and it was useless. This one has plenty of power to effectively shave large items like furniture, and I haven't experienced the problem of it "eating" batteries. I've been on the same set of C batteries and have shaved a sofa, a loveseat, 3 chairs, a sweater, and the worn edges of an area rug, all of which look brand new after using this shaver. It truly catches all the pilled and fuzzy fibers that you want to get rid of, and cleanly shaves them away. You do have to empty the clear plastic fuzz catcher frequently - even if it doesn't look full yet, sometimes a clump of fuzz will get stuck near the top and then it won't seem to run as powerfully until you clean that out.

Does not work as well as described and must use extreme caution when using. Extremely easy to ruin a sweater or shirt.

Run far far away from this fabric shaver. It is not worth anything close to $180 and this landfill destined item is NOT RETURNABLE. $180 for a battery powered cheaply made object that instantly put a hole in the fabric. Please learn from my experience of being taken advantage of financially. Do NOT purchase this product. Instead, adopt a pet mouse to remove the pills from your fabric. You will get the same result for a fraction of the price and you'll have something cute to look at afterwards. What a waste of funds. I thought if I bought an item on Amazon I would be protected from being scammed. I learned a very expensive lesson. This education will be worth it if it helps to prevent another trusting person from doing the same.

I bought this product to use on my couch. I had a cat that liked the microfiber material and although the damage was minimal - like only a couple of pulls - this item should have sorted it and made the couch look line new again. Sadly, the holes are not big enough for large areas. The material does not get sucked in as it should. These holes in the screen are the same size as my mini shaver for sweaters. The blades are hardly sharp enough to cut microfiber too. It cuts everything else but the microfiber it is useless. I feel if the holes were bigger and the blades sharper, it would work as I wanted it to. Good thing it was only a couple of pulls and not a huge amount of damage that needed 'shaving'.

This fabric shaver is great. I've had the small ones before that bog down easily with the pilling on blankets, but this shaver did an excellent job on our flannel sheets and blankets. They now feel just like new and the machine never snagged or bogged down. I do recommend this to anyone who have sweaters, blankets or flannel anything.

After looking for a large fabric shaver for a great while, I finally decided on this one and couldn't be happier! It works great and is comfortable to hold. Within minutes my upholstery looked brand new! It does look much larger in the picture than it is in person, but the size of the actual shaver is large. Couldn't be happier!

Mediocre

I think whoever wrote positive reviews for this sweater shaver must work for the company. I shaved five sweaters using (it took two sets of batteries) and now it'll basically shave nothing plus it eats batteries like crazy - all that for the pleasure of wasting $30! I'm going to try some others. When I find a good one I'll add to this review.
