The HPFIX Premium Heat Resistant Anti-Static Mat performs exactly as described. The material feels durable and well-made, with excellent heat resistance up to 932°F, which is perfect for electronics repair work. The grounding wire and grounding plug are included and function properly, helping to safely discharge static electricity. So far, it's been a reliable and essential addition to my workspace. Based on initial use, I’m very satisfied and giving it a 5-star rating.

This mat seems to do exactly what it's supposed to. The thing about static electricity is that it's hard to predict, so it's hard to tell whether I'm just lucky or if the mat works as intended. That said, I'm going to assume that the mat is working as intended because I had no discharges while using it. The mat is kind of small, but I appreciate that it comes with the grounding wrist band and everything. The section at the top has plenty of spaces for temporarily storing screws and small pieces. It seems very durable, and I look forward to using it on more projects in the future.

It's been a great mat for me so far. The material has been pretty heat resistant and has done it's job fine. I got this mat specifically for the wall plug grounding ability, that's a pretty decent addition. It did smell a bit funky out of the box but that's dissipated after a week. Also, stuff REALLY likes to stick to it, like dust and solder and whatnot, but I supposed most silicone mats are going to be like this. Just get a can of air and some rubbing alcohol to clean it every once in a while, but DO NOT use paper towels, as it will flake off and get absolutely stuck to the mat. I made a slight modification and bought a $3 whiteboard at the dollar store and cut it into pieces small enough to fit into the squares so that I can label where the screws came from, I got the idea as the iFixit mat works almost like a whiteboard, so I wanted to add that onto this one for the little compartments. It's been invaluable in helping me remember what came from where. Not much else to say, maybe that the wall outlet cable and the wrist strap are coiled, I absolutely despise coiled cables like that, but maybe some will appreciate that? I don't know, but I won't take a point off as I think that might just be a subjective opinion.

I only ended up keeping the anti static wristband and other components, because the mat had a strangely sweet scent to them and made me fingers feel odd. I had to wash my hands, because it felt like some substance was rubbing off on them. Even after washing the mat under hot water could I not get rid of the smell and feeling. I'm not sure if that's normal and you're supposed to wear gloves when handling the mat, but I just don't feel right handling it or keeping it nearby. I do hope it's not toxic to inhale.

This is very good ESD soldering mat. Ignore the review trying to test the resistance with a regular multimeter. I tested it with a meter for resistivity surfaces, and it is with in the range in the description. For the price this is an excellent product.
