Worked perfectly to get a stuck axle out of my 2020 explorer

well built and works
Nice tool and a really heavy slide weight. Can use several different types of adapters.

Worked...eventually
It took a little more time to get the axle pulling task accomplished. The hammer weight was not very heavy and the retaining pin for the hammer fell out on the second pull. Used a punch and hammer to knurl the pin better than the factory did and pressed it into place. Teamwork with a co-worker and some choice verbal coaxing got the job done. Had the axle shaft and cir-clip not been as rusted as it was, the job would have been done quicker. Bigger hammer would have helped a lot. Otherwise, a good tool to have around.

Worked on 1997 Toyota Rav4
I did not know there was such a thing as a slide hammer, but after a day & a half of trying every conventional method of removing the CV joint on my 1997 Rav4 (driver side), I went googling for help. I ordered this slide hammer device with a 2" fork; several reviewers said the opening measures only about 1-7/8" and that it's too small for some axles. I was skeptical; I was sure that I would have to spend another $20 or so on a larger fork - based on the reviewers. When I went to use it, I had to put the fork piece in place and then screw the rod into it, but once connected....clank clank, and and the CV joint was out. I sat there in disbelief, not believing that I has struggled for days with wires, screwdrivers, wood wedges, miniature crow bars and on and on, and this simple tool removed it in less than 2 minutes. The downside....now I have a $45 tool that I'll probably never use again. I suppose I could return it for a refund, but that seems a little dishonest, so maybe someday I'll find another use for it. Hope everyone else's experience with this tool is as good as mine has been. I wonder if it could be used for extracting loose teeth.....

Exactly the tool you need, at a good price, with excellent customer service.
I needed this slide hammer for a stuck CV boot, just like everyone else. It worked exactly as intended and got it free within a few minutes of use. The only gripe I have is the T handle, it can come loose. The solution is super simple though, just wrap both sides of the T with duct tape and you're good to go! Extra grip comfort, and the bar can't slide out. The seller is also very responsive and answered my questions when I had a minor issue. I highly recommend both the store, and this product specifically.

Strong and well made
The functionality of this product is excellent, quite easy to use, making the removal of axles way easier and specifically if you’re working on the ground.

Misdirection on “heavy”
Why say heavy slide hammer? When I asked for a 10lb slide hammer on this app and this came up I said great! When it was delivered I was disappointed to find that at best it’s just another 5-6 lb slide hammer.

I had some very stubborn cv axles on the Fusion I was working on. Conventional methods of removal were not working. I decided to order up this kit and it worked like a charm. After the 3rd hard pull, the stubborn axles broke free. This kit has everything you need and worth every dollar!

For anyone who does work on their own vehicles, either cars or trucks or UT VS knows the struggle of trying to get AC. V axle out when it has been well used. There's never enough room to get a hammer on it, or even a cold chisel, on to bang it out. This tool was so nice getting the c. V axle out of the front of my two thousand and seven ram fifteen hundred. The larger forked and worked very well, and it only took seven slides of the weight to pop the axle out. No bloody knuckles and no swearing. I loaned it to my friend who was working on a very old a t v that had been sitting out in the grass for over five years. Needless to say, the underside was quite rusty, and all the axles were being replaced, and he said it wasn't easy, but without this tool, he wouldn't wouldn't have been able to do it at all. I love the idea of the generic cable end. Because that could come in handy on all sorts of removals, that you couldn't get a ham or two, and that the forks don't fit. All in all this tool did a great job. And I think is a game changer for me in the future, when working on axles. Comes in a nice case and seems well built, so I'm pretty confident. It'll outlast me.

Works good, not really heavy enough for cv axles but works awesome for pulling bearing and stubborn seals!

Operation wise this tool did what it needed to. I didn't find it slacked in its operation, or build quality to be able to remove joints. It slacked in the department on how to operate this particular model from its basic operation to adding its attachments. I have used joint removal tools prior to receiving this one, and they really need to tighten up the instructions and make them a lot more clear on how to operate this model. I took more time figuring it out and getting a tad frustrated that I had to write out my own instructions to remember how I got something to work, versus referring back to the manual provided. This is the only negative I have to point out about this tool. When it comes to the overall build quality, and quality of the tool itself its a solid mid range tool. I wouldn't put it at a professional usage level but definitely a tool that can be useful in your hobby shop or at home garage. As long as you have some patience learning it, it operates as it needs to and everything was very smooth sailing once I got it all figured out.
