Xerox 016-2012-00 Imaging Unit for Phaser 6200
Xerox 016-2012-00 Imaging Unit for Phaser 6200Unit arrived as expected - there is a hitch in installation. See fix below.Xerox Phaser 6200DP doesn‘t recognize Imaging Unit By Xerox TechThis repair is easy to do if you are not afraid to take your printer apart. If you are please just call your local service center for a technician to come and do it for you. What they call the “V” rack is out of adjustment. You have to remove the toners, take the top cover off and remove the left cover. Then remove the imaging unit and put in a dark place. On the left side you will see a white round gear with little clips in the center, pull the clips back and back the gear off a little bit then slide the white plastic piece on top of the gear all the way to the front of the printer and be careful—there is another white plastic piece behind the wheel that can fall off. Once you have slid it to the front, push the white gear back on and then you should be good to go.

Phaser 6200DP The printer that could
We have several of these printers still in daily use. When we bought them (10 years ago), they impressed us greatly. So when we needed more color printers we bought more Xerox Phasers (Model 8500). HOWEVER even though the name is similar the printing technology is completely differant. All of those Phaser 8500s have long gone to scrap, while the Phaser 6200DP units continue to work perfectly (some with very high page counts). I have replaced a number of imaging units (as well as all other consumables and never had to adjust the v-rack. Stick to XEROX original consumables and you could plan to grow old with this printer.
