Scotch Smart Mailer, 8.5 in x 11 in, Size #2, 25-Pack (8914-25) , Yellow

I wanted a specific item which I found on the Amazon website. I have used this particular envelope before and thought it was better than others I had seen and used. When I received the envelopes which had the same number as the ones I ordered (8914-25), they were not the same. The ones I wanted were the ones pictured with the shaded area for address and return address. It has a red “Handle with Care”, and the bubbles are bigger than usual. I cannot speak to durability or adhesion on the ones I received since I have not used them but I do know the ones I got were not the ones shown in the picture. FALSE ADVERTISING as far as I’m concerned.

Use: I was selling books, cds, and dvds online and needed a reliable mailer for my merchandise. I chose these for four main reasons: first, they offer a degree of protection against water damage; second, they are padded; third, they won't easily tear; and fourth, they are recyclable (where facilities exist).Quality: I used almost all 25 of them to send merchandise all over the US via USPS and never had a single complaint from buyers about packaging--or anything, for that matter. So it's fair to say that these mailers did their job well.Price: It is true that they're a little more expensive than the most basic padded mailers, but if they consistently keep their contents safe and their recipients happy, and can be recycled, I think they're worth the extra cents.Size: Note that the size (8.5"x11") is reported accurately, but if the object you're shipping is near the size limit and has some thickness to it's not going to fit. 3M makes these in several sizes, so you can find bigger (or smaller) ones if you need to.Also, even though the material is a bit glossy, you can tape or stick shipping labels onto them just fine.

Padded mailers perfect for anything 8x10 in size, or so. I mail trade/paperback books (1/2 to 2 inches thick) in these mailers and they seal well, are slightly padded, water-resistant, and easy to tape address labels onto. I've tried other brands, but they are all less quality (all the way around!) than these mailers, so I am sticking with Scotch.

Picture shows bigger air bubbles on inside of envelope. Air bubbles inside envelopes are too small...not enough cushion. Had to use my own cushioning to mail...cost me more money to shop items.
