Bought to replace one that was broken in a windstorm. The fabric is a bit lighter weight, but that’s not a problem for our needs.

Third Update 9-07-17 The new one has not faded at all this summer and has even handled very windy storms. Very good quality material.Second Update 12-18-16: In September, Serenity Health & Home Decor commented on my review to contact them and I did. The company sent me a new umbrella, completely free after I sent them a email with a picture (which they needed) of the extreme color change of the material. They stated that the umbrella has a new material that does not fade like the old one. Since I live in the upper Midwest, I have not been able to have it out in the sun for very long to see if the new material does not fade but if the umbrella does fade next summer I will update my review again. I have went from 5 stars to three stars and now I will be going back to five stars because of the great customer service and the new replacement umbrella.Update: I had to take this five star review down to three because the top part of the material that is exposed to the sun has faded a lot in one summer. The color on the underneath is still the same and it still works great with everyday use and even on very windy stormy days, so this is the reason I still give it three stars.I searched and read so many review on so many umbrellas and I finally picked this one for quality and value. This is a nice quality umbrella from Sunnydaze Decor. The description is correct. The crank to put the umbrella up and down works great and is smooth. The button to tilt the umbrella works great and is easy to do. The material is a lot thicker than a cheaper umbrella that I have from a patio set I bought before. I would not say that the material is very thick but it is not thin at all. Compared to my other umbrella this one has nice heavy duty steel ribs and a thick aluminum pole. The day we set it up it was very windy. I bought a base that you fill with sand and even though the base was for fifty pounds of sand, we were able to put around seventy pounds in it. So with the umbrella standing with a base only and no table, it handled a very windy day. The only thing you can't do with a windy day is put the tilt down because it will go down. I like that this company has a one year manufacturer's warranty. Great umbrella at a great price. Very happy with it so far but if it does not hold up to a five star review, I will be back!

We live in the hot desert region of the southwest, our summers are very hot with intense heat from the sun, and the temperatures rise to around 115 degrees during our long hot summer. Therefore, we need some shade along the pool’s water edge, to remain in the water but in a shaded area out of the sun’s direct and hot glare.I purchased this umbrella for the shallow wading area in our in-ground pool. The pool has a low ‘wading’ platform around the entrance to the water, and within this area is a deep hole to accommodate a patio umbrella for some necessary shade.The material on this umbrella is not heavy; it has a thinner lightweight nylon type material, therefore it does cut the glare of the sun, but the shaded area underneath the umbrella is still nice and bright. This umbrella has a dark brown aluminum pole, which is lightweight and better than our old umbrella that had a supposedly ‘durable’ redwood shaft. Unfortunately, that wood pole cracked and then split, so this aluminum pole seems to be a lot better.The crank on the pole operates smoothly to open and close the umbrella, and even though I do not have much arm strength, I can maneuver it with ease. On the top is a press button that operates the umbrella’s tilt function, and this allows us to slant the umbrella against the sun’s direct rays when the sun is at an angle.This umbrella serves the purpose and provides a large shady area, the crank turns easily, and the tilt setup functions with very little effort. Since this is still early in the season, I can’t comment whether the material will endure our hot sun or fade by the end of summer. In regard to the color, the description of ‘burnt orange’ is not an accurate representation and instead this color is a very bright orange hue.Other than the thin nylon material, and the color, which is much brighter than the description, the construction and the good quality of the umbrella mechanisms are strong to endure our hot climate. In addition, I am a very small woman in my sixties, and the umbrella functions are easy for me to operate on my own. In conclusion, this patio umbrella has met our expectations.

I've had a few umbrellas in the past made with wood poles and wood struts. None of them ever stood straight and I had to make adjustments that never quite worked and the struts often broke. I recently bought this umbrella after my sister had bought one for my mom and I saw how sturdy it was. I ordered one for my self and was suprised at how affordable it was. I was expecting spend up to $200 to get a sturdy, durable, commercial quaility umbrella but this one was only $67. We just had a wind storm last night with 50 mph gusts. My umbrella was down and tied tight and was just fine this morning. No tilt or lean to the aluminum pole at all. I expect this umbrella to last me several years.

Good quality, affordable, and large patio umbrella. I bought the navy it is looks like it will last for years to come.

We are using them by two lounge chairs, they provide great shade.
