I don’t know why Munchkin stoped making this great, it’s literal the greatest gate ever. I’ve got 4 of them. Been suing them since my oldest was old enough to walk and now we keep them up for the dogs, to keep the off the stairs and away from the front door. It’s so easy to install unlike other gates. And less open bars means it’s safer for my 6lb Chihuahua who tries and stick her head through the bars. Which thankfully are close enough she can’t. I’ve tried de real other gates but this one will always be my favorite. I hope they decide to start making it again. And I have it in 3 different colors as well. I was accidentally sent the pink one instead of blue, but I’m happy with that b/c I already had one pink (the Hello Kitty one!) 2 green and a gray. This matches perfectly.

I bought 2 of these gates, one for the top and one for the bottom of the stairs. They are sturdy and well built. But my 2-1/2 yr old granddaughter knows how to open it. I'm always afraid that she will open it and fall down the steps. There is a lock on it, but it is difficult to flip on.

The latch at the top doesn’t even touch lol. Box was undamaged, this is 100% manufacturing defect.I sent it back and got a replacement. EXACT SAME PROBLEM. this is a massive defect in quality. It’s unusable, so this time when I send it back I’m asking for full refund.Edit: after looking at the new pics of the box opened and seeing a notice on another brand of similar gate, realized it’s supposed to be bent. Wish it said somewhere obvious so people wouldn’t think it’s a defect.

I received this product in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.This baby gate is very nice, it serves it's purpose extremely well and looks good at the same time. My three year old is absolutely obsessed with anything pink and was THRILLED when we opened the (well packed and protected) box. The gate was incredibly easy to install, it only took me 10 minutes or so and was very secure when in place. I'm not worried about my one year old leaning on it and the whole thing falling over at all. I would feel comfortable installing it at the top of the stairs. It comes with little switches on the base so that if you do want to install it on a stairway, it can be set not open over the stairs.It's very important to me that we have gates that my three year old can open himself so that we can block the baby from going down the stairs/into the bathroom/etc but still allow the three year old to do so. Once I showed him how it opened he was able to do so with a little bit of effort. Now, this could be a negative, depending on who exactly you're trying to contain, but for us it is a good thing.The only thing I would improve about this gate is that it doesn't automatically close after being opened. Because we DO want our older child to be able to open it we don't quite trust him to make sure it's closed every single time and for that reason we likely wouldn't use it in a place that would be dangerous (stairs etc) for our younger child to go. That being said, automatically closing wasn't at all an advertised feature, so I didn't expect it to do so and am not disappointed that it does not.Overall the gate is a wonderful choice for anybody who wants a gate that is both functional and stylish and I would absolutely buy it myself.

It's attractive, easy to assemble, but please know this gate does screw into your wall!We bought this Gate when we switched our 18mo old to a toddler bed. (To keep her from roaming the house at night). Her second attempt at opening it was successful, lol, so all this money (with extensions purchased) and it did not do what we needed it to do. We had to buy a secondary latch to go on the front in order to keep her in and out.So in my opinion, this gate is much better for dogs, not toddlers.But it's lovely to look at, lol
