Songs of Lost Love Sung By Shirley Horn

Shirley Horn's First Album Reissued and Released on CD!
Rejoice, fans of Shirley Horn! "Embers and Ashes," her first recording from 1960 coupled with "Where Are You Going?" from 1972 is finally released on CD as a strictly Shirley Horn item and not coupled with a bizarre Louis Armstrong reissue in the same package. "Where Are You Going," makes up the second part of this release. The sound and remastering are perfection. This is a MUST for all Shirley Horn fans!

Shirley Horn Embers and Ashes
Shirley Horn is one of the finest musicians who ever performed. It is tragic that she has not been more widely appreciated.

At last
At last. Shirley Horn's great album, the one that caught Miles' attention, "Embers and Ashes - Songs of Lost Love" is back on CD (This always was the title and subtitle). The voice is already intact, and more youthful than the 80s and 90s recordings but already wise. the piano playing is already swinging. And the pace is already at that wonderful dead slow on some tracks. Get it while you can. "He Never Mentioned Love" is worth the price of admission in itself.

Shirley Horn
Heard Shirley Horn on a music streaming site and just had to hear more. Not dissapointed, the more of her music I hear the better I like her. This is her first album from 1960 and what a revelation! Wonderful laid back performance, singing x playing. If you like quality jazz try this one. You will not be dissapointed.
