Yamaha HS10W 10" Powered Studio Monitor

I pair this with 5 HS80M Active monitors. For a completely out of this world 5.1 surround system. Sure the total is about $3,500. I do not use these for 'mixing' music. I use them as a sound system. But this blows any $10k+ BOSE or other name brand consumer speaker away. In not only volume but clarity and range.But this review is about this sub in particular and not about the entire Yamaha line.This is the nicest sub I have ever heard. Granted my room is treated, and it is sitting on a large bass pad. It is capable of giving a bass you feel through your entire body without distorting the sound. The experience is simply breathtaking. Go to your nearest music store and listen to this in combination with just 2 HS80Ms.... Be prepared to throw away whatever speaker system you currently have.

Pros:-Quality-I/O is well thought out-Works well with HS80m and HS50m-Goes very lowCons:-Very boomy-Requires heavy room treatment to not sound muddy.My sub has a voice-coil rubbing clap. I am hoping it will go away when it breaks in more. If not, it is going to go back. :(

Sounds great. Definitely adds to my HS80M's. I run a home studio and this was a welcome addition to it. Easy to set up too

I have the HS80m's and this pairs perfectly with them. Sound is clear and powerful. There are nice controls for dialing it into your room. In addition, the user documentation contains some entry level advice about setting up the sound in your room and how to deal with limitations of the room.

If you have the Yamaha monitors then you need this subwoofer. Really adds to bottom end, and the perfect match for your studio monitors.

This thing is beastly. I've had it for a few months (paired with my HS50s) and its running like a champ.

speaker did a great job until today where it seems to be blown. is there any type on manuf. warranty on this?
