Good OBD2 Scanner..
This is my initial review for this TOPDON ArtiDiag800BT OBD2 Scanner and I'll continue updating it as I use it. I love the design and the pull up scanner attached to the handle of the scanner, it's very easy to store, so you feel safe that you won't lose it, also love the little protective case that it comes with, great accessories. In my opinion this wireless OBD2 scanner works great and very accurate, Already been using it alot. Just yesterday I had an error code. After researching it was either the thermostat sensor or the pump. Tried both and I figured it was the thermostat since I can see the live data, on my topdon OBD2 screen, I could watch the temp before and after replacing the unit sensor. Great OBD scanner, with very big and easy to read screen, the software is built over android so it's easy to update and navigate and if there is any firmware needed I won't need to go through the headache like my old obd's, that you have to do to install new updates through usb stick and all that headache, it might feel a bit pricey but then when you use it and go through the setup process and their easy, straight forward menu system, you'll understand why. It got every car you can think of in the market right now. Overall, very good quality OBD Scanner with so many features for a great price and I recommend it. P.S. I hope you like my little video showcase, Don't forget to smash the helpful button, If you liked my video review.

Replacement scanner
I’ve used a lot of scan tools over the years, and the ArtiDiag800 BT 2 honestly surprised me with how capable it is for the price point. Right out of the box, setup was simple and the Bluetooth connection was solid. Not having to deal with a cable hanging from the dash is a bigger deal than you’d think—especially when you’re moving around the vehicle running tests. Where this tool really stands out is the diagnostic depth. This isn’t just a code reader. I’ve been able to run active tests, control components, and actually diagnose issues instead of guessing and throwing parts at a problem. Full system scans are quick and it pulls data from everything—ABS, SRS, transmission, BCM—you name it. The bidirectional controls are what really make this tool worth it. Being able to command things like fans, actuators, and other components saves a ton of time and takes the guesswork out of troubleshooting. For anyone doing real mechanical work, that’s huge. Vehicle coverage has been solid too. I’ve used it on a mix of domestic and import vehicles without any issues, and it handles newer systems like CAN-FD, which is a must if you’re working on newer models. It’s also got a ton of service functions built in—resets, relearns, maintenance functions—basically everything you need for most day-to-day jobs. Now, it’s not perfect. The battery life is decent but not amazing, and the tablet itself feels a little basic compared to higher-end units. Also, this isn’t a replacement for OEM-level programming tools—you’re not doing ECU flashing with it. That said, for what it’s designed to do, it absolutely delivers. Bottom line: If you’re a serious DIYer, side-work mechanic, or even running a small shop, this tool hits a sweet spot. It gives you professional-level diagnostic capability without the professional-level price tag. It’s one of those tools that pays for itself pretty quickly

Quality Car Scanner
I am a professional mechanic who does a lot of work on the side at home as well. I have a smaller cheaper code reader that just reads and deletes codes, but I knew I needed a higher quality scanner. This scanner is a great value and works really well. My shop has a snap on scanner that was around 10 grand and an Autel scanner also, this scanner works just as well as them in a lot of ways and I have used at my shop also. It is clear and easy to use. Live data works well, it is a little hard to figure out how to access the bidirectional control, but it works. Also the battery life on this scanner is excellent. Way better than my shops scanners. Charges fast and holds the charge a long time. The only thing I don't like is that the scanner really works best when it has Wifi signal. This is nice when at home or at the shop, but once you are out of range of wifi, it loses features and has a difficult time connecting to vehicles. This may not be an issue for most people, but having to do test drives or working on a car at someone elses house means you may not always have wifi. Again its overall a good scanner and a great value, you can spend thousands on the name brand professional ones and still have it do less than this scanner.

This is a deal you cannot beat.
Recently I got a warning light on the dash on my BMW 118i so decided to go ahead and do bought this topdon ad800bt. It looks decent and seems better than some of other ones I’ve seen. The well-made carrying case is a charmer, adds value and protection. Inside of it,there comes with an instruction and the nicely-made scanner which sits nicely in it. What’s cool is as soon as the tablet comes on, The Bluetooth dongle will pair very quickly to the tablet, all by itself, And I a loud buzzer on the tablet word just buzz and then you can see the blue light just came on the dongle that means it’s paired. Well it’s a kind of a small screen but present quality results being quick and straightforward to read. Also it took a while to do autoscan on my BMW, It did end up telling how many modules we are present and any faults or problems within each of those modules. Actually it was not just going to scan a few of P type codes like some cheap scanners did, but get the dealer specific codes - with BMW it is a must! I finally got the right code to find the correct fault instead of running around like a headless chicken. Another feature I like is its full live view of all the data that can be monitored in vehicle’s ECU modules. This is actually one of the reasons why I bought the scanner as opposed to the old handheld autel scanner I had before. The old one didn’t show all the live data I wanted to check. Well, this topdon ad800bt shows that. And the data can also be merged to be much easier to notify a problem as soon as they develop all together. The tool got all the other things that is beneficial for the car: the oil reset, the electronic parking brake, tire pressure monitoring, battery system registration, brake bleed, etc., a lot more than some other tools of the same price range, and super intuitive to operate, update and set up. I know it seems expensive for us more tablet like this, but where you are going to be paying 50 bucks and 50 bucks and another 50 bucks again for all those cheap scan tools, it all adds up where you could have bought something decent like this. You will be able to scan every single manufacturer car and have the right specific codes all the time, which means, it’s going to help save a lot of money in the long run.

Multiple flaws with this tool
After watching multiple YouTube videos of mechanics and the like promoting the TOPDON ArtiDiag800BT diagnostic scanner, I thought it might be a great holiday gift to give myself. My first problem started once I got it, registered it, put in the activation code, and started downloading the programs I wanted to use. (As a caveat, you must have internet connectivity for this tool to work, period. Even after you've downloaded the different software on it, you will still need to be tethered to wi-fi. At least, that has been my experience.) It will not work in the field, for example, if you don't have wi-fi access. It simply freezes and is stuck on "loading," but loads nothing. When it is connected to wi-fi, it does work sometimes depending on what screen you are on. If you are running the OBD2 general program, then you can get away with a successful scanning of the codes, most of the times. If you are trying to do a full health scan, then you may get a frozen screen about half the time. Let's talk about some of the features it boasts and learn whether they work. I purchased this tool with the intention of using it after completing some work on my BMW X3. Specifically, I was changing the eccentric shaft sensor (if you own a BMW with this sensor, you know its a commonly known failing sensor) that takes removing the valve cover to get to. After removal, the dreaded "valvetronic, eccentric shaft sensor 2A31, 2A32, and 2A47 codes needs clearing with a capable scanner. This tool takes you into that very module and attempts to clear the code. It will even tell you that the code is cleared, but it actually does not clear the code. They all come back. (Of course, if you are doing this job, do not ever use an aftermarket sensor, or the so-called OEM brand on eBay or Amazon, get an original one from the dealership. You'll thank me later.) The tool also does not reset the oil light in the BMW. In fact, the tool tells you that you need to do this manually "on car," which I already knew how to do. It does not clear the transfer case "wear oil" code, even if you go into that exact module to do so. It also did not reset my steering angle sensor to zero after I've changed it. Some positives are that it will read all your car's codes and that it is quite thorough when it complete the health check scan (when it decides to work fully). For the price tag and my experience of having it only read the codes that my other Launch diagnostic scan tool does, but only cost 1/4 of the price, I would say to stay away from this tool until the company finds a way to load all the programs onto the hardware so you can use it wherever you go, and check on their reset functions. Maybe it works great on everything else, except BMWs.

Perfect Tool for Women Learning DIY Car Repairs
I’ve been using this scanner regularly since I got it and it has been an amazing tool. As a woman who has always wanted to learn how to diagnose and fix my own vehicle instead of relying on others, this scanner has given me confidence and knowledge. The interface is easy to understand, the information is clear, and it actually teaches you what’s happening with your car. It’s empowering to be able to DIY and troubleshoot issues myself. This is a great investment for anyone—especially women—who want to learn, grow, and take control of their own vehicle maintenance.
