Brightech Sky LED Torchiere Super Bright Floor Lamp - Contemporary, High Lumen Light for Living Rooms & Offices - Dimmable, Indoor Pole Uplight for Bedroom Reading - Black

I bought this lamp to try to replace a 300Watt Halogen lamp. This lamp definitely does it, it is a superb product, assembly was trivial.The eyeballed light output, at the initial power on setting, equals or exceeds the Halogen lamp. The Brightech lamp has three light level settings and off, all controlled by a capacitive touch switch built into the pole. Even the second level almost equals the light output of an aged Halogen. The lamp always starts at the highest power level. The lamp can be connected to a standard wall switched or un-switched power socket, and I have been running it on an X10 light control module without any issue. You will notice a second or two delay from turning the power on and seeing the light if using a switch. If you are not using some sort of power switch you'll need up to three taps on the capacitive switch to turn the lamp off. The touch switch does work well, requiring barely a brush of the finger to operate.Power is provided by a power brick which outputs 24v @ 1.6A. So the power output maximum from the brick is 38.4Watts. The lamp is advertised at 30Watts so this is very reasonable. Dropping from 300Watts to 30Watts with the same or better light output is just what I was looking for. The light color is a medium warm 3000K color, 2700K is a typical warm white (yellow tinted color) So it is just a little bit more white than the Halogen, but it is not that harsh white you get from 5000K lights. The 'color' is quite nice.The lamp is not tall enough in my opinion, it needs another 6-7 inches of height. For me the light is about right at eye level, and the Brightech lamp is 6.5 inches shorter than my Halogen lamp. So if you are over 6' you'll probably want to put the lamp on something to raise it up. I'm going to try to procure a pole extension. The pole pieces just screw together and while the power does goes through the pole it does not prevent adding a piece between the base and the first pole where the power enters from the side.The power brick is nice but the power prongs are built into it which means the brick hangs on the wall, and can't be plugged into an X10 box directly. I had to use an extension cord. When plugging it directly into the wall socket it hangs down but did not seem to block use of the top socket. I suppose it depends on what you need to plug into the top socket.The best recommendation information I can provide is that I will be buying a second one later this year.

My previous lamp was not bright enough to be the main light in my apt and it kept turning off randomly. I don't have an overhead light in my apt living room so I needed something bright enough to light the place without killing my eyes when I look in that direction. This works great and provides a lot more light than most single lamps of this size and price point. I love that it has the dimmer options and the style is simple but versatile for any space.

Holy crap. EASY to put together. BEAUTIFUL GLORIOUS LIGHT! The last lamp I got actually sucked light from the room it was crazy. (It was super dim, not a black hole but it felt like one.) I have been sitting in the light of my monitor for the last week cause I am lazy. I turned this thing on and it felt like day time in my room lol. Its stylish and works great. If anything changes in the next year I will come back and let you know.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:The online description says, "Super Bright LED Lighting: Brightech floor lamp built-in LED light with 2190 Lumens is enough to light your living room." But the paper instructions that came with it say the brightness is 1660 lumens. Even for a small office, I think it isn't bright enough. But I do like the way it looks and the price is very good. Also very easy to assemble.

I don’t write a lot of review but this lamp is so good I had to! I did not have very high expectations for this but this is such a brilliant lamp. It REALLY brightens up a space and does not make you miss ceiling lights! Great to look at, sleek and goes well with most aesthetics. The assembly was super easy & touch switch is super convenient. We bought two thinking we’d need them since our living room is large but one is good enough. We’re still keeping the second one though we hardly use it just coz we loved it so much. I’d highly recommend this if your space does not have ceiling light.

I purchased this light for my bedroom, and I absolutely love it! Assembly was very quick and easy. Immediately noticeable is the warm color temperature of this light compared to other LED solutions. I like the light quality even better than the old halogen lamp that I used to have *(it used to attract bugs and get very hot... this one does not!).The light is bright immediately and stays bright; no warming up needed. It's slim and light in weight, but the base is very sturdy. The 3 settings of brightness are very convenient. If I were to be very picky: I wish it had 4 or 5 settings, as the dimmest one is not very dim, but it makes for a pleasant atmosphere.I propped the base of the lamp on top of a 1-inch thick book to make it stand a bit taller. This was a simple and effective solution to the fact that this lamp does not feature a 'bowl' at the top... it's flat. I'm six feet tall, and did notice that it shined in my eyes a bit without the extra elevation of the 1 inch thick book or another supportive object placed under the base. Maybe the manufacturers can offer a model that stands a bit taller, but 1-inch is an easy fix as described above.I like that the top of the lamp tilts in order to adjust the direction of the light source.I added an Amazon Alexa smart plug to the purchase with the understanding (from reading the reviews here) that a smart plug would switch the light on and off, but the light always defaults to the brightest setting when switched on. This was indeed true. It would be a nice if the manufacturers found a way for the light to remember which brightness setting it had last... or include a remote control with the unit that adjusts on/off & brightness. I encourage them find a way to incorporate this into future products.Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase. Price point is affordable. I would highly recommend this solution for any room in the house or business. I plan on purchasing more of these units for other rooms in my home. Not perfect, but still deserves 5 out of 5 Stars!
