Don't trust the other books.. BUY THIS NOW.
I got this book in my last couple of weeks of studying for the GRE. I soo wish that I had purchased it in my first few weeks so that I would have had it for the duration of my study. Unlike the other study guides I found, this book is chock full of GRE grade questions. They are challenging, relentless, and consistent. Everyone else tries to sell you practice questions for an exorbitantly expensive fee. This book was just what I needed: a huge trove of questions at a fair price. If you require guidance on how to solve a problem, there are detailed explanations in the second half of the chapters. If you need further help there are myriad free resources on the internet to help you understand these concepts. Don't let ETS or Kaplan make any more ill-deserved money. Buy this book instead!!!

The explanations were not always the best though. Sometimes their way of solving a problem ...
I only used it for the quant problems as that was what I needed more practice with. Has a lot of practice problems organized by topic which is helpful for reviewing concepts. The explanations were not always the best though. Sometimes their way of solving a problem seemed to require more work than necessary and also seemed a bit condescending at times (e.g. "use logic"). But otherwise, I liked having explanations for each problem and they gave some tips that were useful. This review is for the Kindle version and while the formatting wasn't horrible, it could definitely be better. For reference, I used this to study for the second time I took the GRE. Didn't study at all the first time so for my second test I used this and some online resources. My quant score went up 3 points so it helped at least a little bit.

Great practice problems
Great practice problems! They have a good selection, especially for math. You can focus on each topic and practice, practice, practice. Much better than Kaplan - the Manhattan questions are of a higher caliber and are much more difficult. I would say these problems are a little tricker than the ETS problems, but that's what makes them so great for practice. There aren't too many verbal practice sections though, so I would recommend getting an additional verbal book if you want more practice on that section. Lastly, I would NOT recommend getting it on your kindle (laptop kindle). (Although the GRE is computerized, so it is good practice in that sense.) I found it difficult to navigate through the sections and the formatting was clearly not set up for the laptop kindle. The text for the practice problems was misaligned and there would be line breaks in the middle of sentences, so it would be difficult just to read it. If I were to take any more standardized tests, I would definitely buy Manhattan again!

Great resource for practice problems
While this book doesn't have any statistics or breakdowns for different types of questions like other online products, I thought the quality and quantity of the questions was excellent. Within each section the questions progress with some difficulty adding in new twists and covering all the different kinds of questions I ended up seeing on the GRE. I think a vocab app is a good supplement to this book, but I would definitely recommend this book as a cheaper option to other resources for questions.

and between this and Magoosh I'm pretty confident that I'm going to be able to kick ...
I'm using a combination of Manhatten's 5 lb. Book of GRE Practice Problems and GRE Quantitative Comparisons & Data Interpretation (Manhattan Prep GRE Strategy Guides), Kaplan Official GRE Super Power Pack, and Magoosh.com (who are kind enough to coordinate their study schedule to include Manhatten and Kaplan) for all of the other sections of the GRE.I have a LD in mathematics, so I knew I would need all the help I could get for studying maths, and between this and Magoosh I'm pretty confident that I'm going to be able to kick the GRE's rear end.

It is exactly is as advertized (the second book you should buy).
Since I did not want to carry around a 6lbs book, I bought the kindle edition.Overall the book is exactly what is to called; a book filled with practice problems. The kindle edition was much more convenient in terms of size with a small sacrifice in the ability to flipping back and fourth between pages. Therefore is was most efficient to do a block of multiple problems and then check them. This is also not a book you can just jump into. you need a clear idea of what you are practicing and the test methods you want to experiment with. Therefore, I recommend this book being the SECOND book you buy. The first being the ETS GRE book or a similar book that gives you a practice test to diagnose your weak points and some test taking methods to practice.

Five stars
It was really helpful (and I did EVERY problem in the book twice.) The thing is: you need to dedicate like two to three months of constant, unimpeded study time to make sure you can understand what the book is trying to teach. Secondly, studying the other books has a lot more payoff; this book is really good for review, but is bad if you're trying to learn the material for the first time.I used ALL of Manhattan's products, and now on my way to applying to Doctoral programs. Thanks Manhattan, you're awesome!

Good content; horrible formatting and layout.
The content of this is obviously quite good, and is the usual ManhattanPrep standard; however, the formatting on the Kindle edition is rather regrettable. Questions span multiple pages, which makes working exercises quite cumbersome, and can make it quite difficult to complete exercises in a timed setting. The general issue of flipping through pages, e.g. to review answers, is exacerbated with this kind of text, though this is not necessarily the fault of the publisher. In general, I think the problems are pretty good; however, they appear to be much simpler, in general, than those featured in other ManhttanPrep texts. While the content of the text is laudable, I would strongly advise staying away from the Kindle Edition. I sincerely regret purchasing it.
