A very good read - I will read more of her work
Living in Washington State (on the City side of the Sound), I could really relate to the scene in this book. Elizabeth George clearly knows and loves the area and uses its beauty and uniqueness to enhance her tale. The characters are very well-drawn and engaging. I found myself reading late into the night without really realizing it. A very good read - I will read more of her work!

I love the real-life settings and descriptions of the island
I am really enjoying this series. I've been an Elizabeth George fan for many years. I appreciate Ms. George's ability to write to a completely different and much younger audience than she did when she captured me with the Inspector Lynley series. I love the real-life settings and descriptions of the island. I like the characters, although at times I wanted more individual development for some of them, and less on others. My only other complaint is that after three books I would like a bit more detail about where the hell Becca's mother is, and why hasn't she come back?! At this point the whole scenario is kind of hard to believe much longer. I am eagerly awaiting the next installment and I hope this will be explained.

Less Intriguing than Earlier Entries in the Series
"The Edge of the Shadows," by Elizabeth George, is the third in her Whidbey Island series. There have been a series of suspicious fires on the island, and coincidentally there are a number of new people staying there, including siblings Aidan and Isis, who are staying with their grandmother, and Parker, a musician looking to play at a local festival. As Becca and her friends discover, all of these people have secrets, and some of those secrets might be deadly, possibly even more deadly than the secret Becca herself is keeping…. I had thought that this was the final book in this series, but evidently there will be one more novel coming out later in 2016; and, indeed, there are a lot of dangling threads at the end of this story. I’m still enjoying it, although there seems to be a growing repetition in how the characters interact. Part of this is, of course, because the main characters are teenagers and as such are obsessed with sex and romance and finding partners, but I’m beginning to find that focus a little tedious. Still, I’ll read the final novel when it comes out, if only for the sake of completeness. So, a milder recommendation from me for this one.

This was a departure from the usual books by Elizabeth George and I've loved them all
I was completely entranced by the Whidbey Trilogy and wish there had been more. This was a departure from the usual books by Elizabeth George and I've loved them all. Wish she would write more of her ensemble detective stories as I thoroughly enjoy coming to know all the characters and following their personal and professional lives. She is one of my favorite authors, right up there with Peter Robinson.

Really love Elizabeth George's work
I love Elizabeth George's character development. I have read all this series, as it takes place in the town where I live. Very fun. These are teen books so not quite as detailed as the novels I am used to reading of hers but still well done. She has a great imagination. Always a little twist in the plot.

Keeps you on your toes.
This book is part of a 4 book series, new to me, by Elizabeth George. I read all 4 books, in sequence (very important to understanding the same characters.) It is a departure from the author's style in terms of setting, but it is as captivating and suspenseful as her other novels. She writes well developed novels and is adept at keeping one's interest.

I thought this was the last book of the series. I am now looking forward to the next one. There was always something new coming up & new secrets being revealed. What will happen next?

But overhall it is a great book. I enjoyed this series and would recommend ...
You have to read the first 2 books to understand what the plot of the story is. I found that yes sometimes you get lost in the story because of so many things happening at the same time. But overhall it is a great book. I enjoyed this series and would recommend that you read them more than once.

A good read
Much better than the second of the series but would have liked to have seen a bit more about what happened to Becca Kings mother!

Kein Ende in Sicht...
So (Achtung, Spoiler) erklärt Diana, Becca sei "the One". Mehr kommt aber nicht. Ich habe den Eindruck, die Autorin weiß selbst noch nicht so genau, wo sie eigentlich hinwill. Enttäuschend.

Maintains the standard!
Have been earnestly waiting for book 3 - loved books 1 & 2; can't wait for book 4. Read this series originally because I love her detective novels and as a high school English teacher am interested in adolescent fiction. She's an excellent story-teller - grabs your interest and holds it. Memorable characters - all flawed and thus believable. Sympathetic creation of relationships. Interesting use of 'other worldly' elements within a very realistic setting.
