Superior to my American Special Strat
I own (and am currently selling!) a Fender American Special Stratocaster. That strat sounds great, but the choice of wood for the body is terrible, and as a result, the guitar does not sustain very well at all. I even added a Super Vee Bladerunner tremolo in an attempt to increase sustain, but to little avail. After pursuing several strats, I took a chance on this one, and am glad I did. It's quite strange that this strat is as expensive as a USA made American Special Strat, but is MIM (Made in Mexico). However, the electronics and materials make up for it, and the workmanship on the Strat I got is on par with a USA made Strat. This strat sustains very well, the neck is nice and fat (I disagree with others that compare it to a baseball bat; the neck isn't that much bigger than the standard C-shape neck, but still very nice), and has a satin finish on the back, which is to my preference. The pickups have a wonderful vintage-esque tone, save for the neck pickup. Listening to the guitar through the neck pup casually, one may even mistake it for a low powered humbucker or P-90, the pickup is that fat. This guitar was designed to a blues artist's specs, so it obviously excels at blues and classic rock genres. If you're in a position like I was, wanting a better strat, yet wanting something unique, check this strat out. It is expensive, but again, the workmanship and quality speaks for themselves when you behold this guitar in person.

It has an AMAZING warm sound
What a fabulous guitar! I bought it for my son's 18th birthday...He LOVES it!! It has an AMAZING warm sound. This guitar is my son's second Fender Strat. He couldn't imagine liking another guitar better than his first one, but he does! He rarely uses his first one anymore after getting this awesome Kenny Wayne Strat! The perfect 18th birthday gift!

Love it!
I bought this guitar for my fiancé as his engagement present as it was his "dream guitar". He loves it! You can definitely hear a difference in the richness of the tone compared to others that he plays. Very impressed and well worth the money for a more advanced guitarist who is looking for a bluesy sounding instrument.

True American perfection!
Absolutely amazing! No denying that this is a true American strat. The big dipper pickups are essentially Texas Specials with a scooped mid. They sound absolutely superb!

Review from a Gibson player
I own a 2012 Gibson Hummingbird True Vintage and a 2012 Gibson Les Paul Studio (with burstbucker pros). However I have always lusted after a US made Fender Stratocaster. I purchased it from Guitar Center (a 2014 model). I am very impressed with the sounds and features of this guitar. I play blues/rock/indie type of stuff and this guitar is perfect for those styles. Since I cut my teeth on Gibson guitars the beefier neck on the JM strat is perfect for me. I do not have huge hands but not small hands either and the guitar is very comfortable for me to play. The pickups are quiet and sound amazing through my Vox AC15C1. It also sounds great overdriven with my OCD overdrive pedal. It's a very versatile guitar from what I can tell. The one issue I had with the guitar I received shipped from Guitar Center is the decal on the headstock was almost completely worn off. I am currently in the process of exchanging this one for a non-blemished item.Overall, I'm very impressed with the build and tone of this guitar and expect it to be a lifetime keeper. I'm giddy that I finally own a strat.

Best axe hands down!
This is well made, it has a beautiful burst finish, all the qualities I love: no tremolo cover or screw holes, 6 point vintage tremolo and saddles, huge thick neck(think baseball bat), warm rosewood tone, and those lovely dipped dysfunctional texas specials, not to mention the super satin smooth finish on the neck and the vintage tuners are always a home run. Tortoise pick guard is a butte as well! This strat is a beast to say the least! I have been playing it for a year now and have moved from 10's to 11's di'addario's and lowered the pickups a bit and wow! Amazing blues tones as well as jazz, rock, funk and anything your fingers throw at it. I'll let you be the judge, but if something happens to this baby I'm getting another. On a side note this is a heavy guitar, but pays for itself in tone over and over, just buy a fender monogramed padded strap and the weight is not an issue, I know from years of back pain. Play proud!
