Ant Mountain with 2 Tubes of Live Ants

Happy with product. Came on time and in good shape.I bought 2. One for home and one for schoolGood design and good instructions.

UPDATE: I ordered a different design ant farm. The instructions said to add 1/4 cup of water to the digging material after filling the habitat. Compare this to the ant hill instructions which said add “two to three DROPS every INCH” while filling habitat. Ant hill also stressed DO NOT OVER WATER OR OVER FEED repeatedly. When I realized the HUGE discrepancy in amount of moisture added, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to add 1/4c water to the ant hill with about 5 remaining living ants… WOW. They TOOK OFF digging and were finally active and happy. I know they are just ants, but I feel SO BAD the rest basically dehydrated to death. So if you get this kit, it will work. Just add 1/4 cup of water as you fill with the digging materials.Most ants arrived alive. First day they had dug an impressive amount. Second day they filled up my starter hole and dug a ton more. After that, they just seemed to be struggling. I loved this design of having a “slice” of an ant hill for my little kids, but the ants had a very difficult time climbing up the mountain. Most ants died after the first few days. The rest just huddled together and didn’t do any more digging. Very disappointing. A waste of time and money. I am now going to order the standard boring rectangle ant farm and more ants. :/

Good gift for a friends son. He loved. Easy to assemble. Some ants came dead as expected.

Very disappointed in this product. I ordered this for my son, who was so excited to get this! So was I because I thought it would be a really fun thing for us to do together, to watch these ants dig tunnels, build a home and flourish. How wrong was I?! I did not realize that THEY DO NOT SEND A QUEEN, which means that you are literally WATCHING THESE ANTS SLOWLY DIE FOR LIKE 1.5-2 WEEKS. They can only last up to 2 weeks without a queen. It's awful It is the most saddest thing my son has ever seen, he is completely devastated! And I'm devastated because I didn't realize that that's what was going on until it was too late and he already saw a bunch of them die. He was so excited to have these ants, they were like his little babies, he'd named them and everything. Then slowly one by one they just started dying because they don't have a queen, which should be in the title or something, It's literally just an experiment to watch ants slowly die for 2 weeks. I don't understand why they would send this for children at all, I just don't get it.

The ants didn’t have food in their tube, some were dead in each tube. The sand was Clumpy, dusty & hard to get in the little hole it was supposed to. It wasn’t easy.
