Wired up new speakers on my boat with this excellent speaker wire. You NEED and MUST use this tinned wire on a boat! If you use any junky speaker wire, it will corrode in little time and be useless. Spend the money and buy this Ancor Marine Grade Product.

Definitely worth it over just regular copper. This keeps the corrosion at bay

If you want your sound system on a saltwater boat to last more than 1 year this is what you need.

So here's the deal, I'm used to the more expensive car audio brand name speaker wire, with the thick cushy jackets. This was like $20 cheaper than even budget brand nvx type stuff so I figured I'd take a chance seeing as it was tinned copper. It's not bad wire by any means, but it should be noted that the jacket is pretty hard/tough. Which is good, but it can introduce rattles if not secured properly. I think that's the main reason for car audio wiring being so gummy-bear textured, to prevent rattling. I did notice, that in some areas (not many, just every once in a while I can see the copper showing through the tinning. So I guess it's true that you get what you pay for, but all and all I think it's a pretty good deal.
