Does this come with any cars?

Yes, 1 car. Mine came with a green one. Other hot wheel cars we could not get to work on it. The only car that works on it is the car that comes with it.

will i need to buy any additional parts or will this work alone the way it is?

Works just fine without anything added my kids love it as is

Replacement parts? The launcher paddle broke within 2 minutes of play and the set is useless without it

Same thing happened to me. Amazon would not allow for an exchange. Only a return. Seeing as I bought it on sale for 23.99, I wasn’t interested in returning and buying it back for more than double what I initially paid. Amazon gave me a $5 courtesy credit. I then emailed hot wheels directly explaining the situation and asking for a replacement launcher. It took them a few days to email me back, but they are sending me a whole new set as they can’t send the launcher separately.
