Q: How long are the straps?

the straps are a average size. not sure of exact measurement but if you're average height this bag will fall at waist level

The tag inside the bag states- Shell: 100% Polyester, Lining: 100% Polyester

Q: Is this item machine washable?

I would say on delicate yes it could be. I have used mine for several weeks now and haven't needed to wash it yet but its a great quality product!

Q: Could I add a cross-body strap to the D-rings on either side where the stroller straps hook on? That's the ONLY thing I think this bag set is missing!

I don't see why you couldn't add a strap as long as your strap has some way to hook to the d rings. I agree having a long strap on the bag would be nice. The short strap it has as pretty comfortable to carry it with though. And I LOVE the stroller strap. So nice!
