Gread video head for small cameras and lightweight tripods
I wanted a lightweight video head for my Slik tripod for a second camera in a two camera video recording project. I have tested the head to see how the tilt and pan adjustments work and they seem fine. I have the tilt adjustment set so it is easy to move and it shows no tendency to tilt on its own. I have a Panasonic HCV250 attached, which is a small camera. The Slik tripod is a Sprint Pro, which is very light to use with a video head, but it works well with this head and the settings I have used. Panning is smooth with my settings, and the tripod does not tip. All my cameras have Arca Swiss quick release mounts, so I added an Arca type adapter to the quick release that came with the tripod. The pan/tilt arm can be mounted on the right (default) or left side of the head. Movement is smooth througout the 360 degree pan and +/- 90 degree tilt. To point the camera full vertical, you may have to change the position of the tilt/pan arm, since in the normal position (handle down), the handle may hit the tripod leg. On my tripod, the arm touched the leg at about 86 degrees. This head would be wonderful for shooting air shows, where pointing vertically would be useful! Rotating the arm is easy. Just loosen the locking nut, rotate the arm and re-tighten. Both pan and tilt have marks at 10 degree increments. My other video setup is a heavy duty Manfrotto tripod with a Manfrotto fluid head. When I say "heavy duty", you can emphasize HEAVY, since I got it for a Canon L2, which is a big camera. I think this head and either the Slik or my smaller Manfrotto tripod will take over most of the duties of the heavier setup, especially when I'm not using a DSLR for video.

Great Head for the Money-Same Results As My $300 Head
The media could not be loaded. I shoot professionally for our company internationalpress.org and cover many events. When covering trade and consumer shows I have to take lots of heavy gear and lately have stopped because of the weight. I have a Manfrotto Tripod with a very heavy head and it doesn't allow me to get those nice smooth pans and tilts. So I tried this one and for the cost, I had nothing to lose. To my surprise and from reading the reviews about it being plastic, I found it well made and much lighter than the others I have. On the bottom you have the 1/8" screw mount and you can take that insert out for the larger 1/4" tripod thread.Once mounted with my Nikon D7200 I found it very responsive and very smooth and liked the easy adjustments on the tilt and pan. Took it outdoors to test it and it worked perfectly. Lighter weight, low cost, good build make this head a keeper. I have over 300 videos on YouTube with millions of views and I would recommend this to any novice or pro.YouTube: Lenrapp Our online publication IPAImpress.com

Not my style.... plate.
For the most part this is an ok head for infrequent and light use. The little adjustment knobs are very small and my hands are big so, it’s difficult for me to adjust. The fluid aspect, the smoothness of tilt and pan is excellent. If you use a large plate, and you shoot video occasionally, this might be the head for you. It seems well constructed and it’s delivered well.I do not use a large plate. I use a smaller Peak Design plate. I just couldn’t get the plate tightened to my camera tight enough to suit me, or to engender trust. It all functions well, if you use a large tripod plate. I’m giving it to one of my photographer buddies. He will like it and use it.Here is what my Buddy had to say....Finally had a chance to play with that head this afternoon, here is what I think in a very small nutshell.Review of the Kingjoy video pan head,This unit is light yet very sturdy and appears well made. The overall function is reliable for it’s intended purpose and is quite easy to use.The only negative I have found with it is in the fine tension adjustment knobs, I find them to be almost too close to the gross adjustment screws for my fingers to use them easily. However, once the fine adjustment is set there is really no need for re-adjustment because they stay where you set them.Although it is made from a composite the movement is very smooth, no jumping is detected in the final video while panning in any direction. I would have to recommend this unit if you’re in the market for a good video head and have a restricted budget.

Great for Beginners
For the price this head is excellent - it's very well built and pretty solid feeling, even more so than some of the more expensive fluid heads I own. I've used some other ones that are a bit jolty due to the quality, making it possible to get okay shots but not great ones. I didn't experience this with this head, it both pans and tilts incredibly smoothly, much more so than I would have expected at this price point. The only thing that isn't entirely smooth is the mounting plate, it can be a little difficult to get back onto the tripod but it's not a big deal. I do appreciate that the mounting plate's screw has a little flap to help you attach it to the camera, instead of having to use a screw driver. It also has a cork covering to protect your camera, which is a very nice touch as well. Overall a professional photographer will probably want something more solid, but this is a very good option for beginners.

Limited usefulness
This was an improvement for video over using a ball head. No doubt about that. At short or medium zoom it performs adequately. My work, though, involves a lot of long zoom shots, mostly birds. For that, this head shows its limitations. The drag is too sticky for fine adjustments at long zoom. The drag adjustment knob for panning is OK, but the knob for tilt is so stiff I'd need a pair of pliers to move it. Then the lock knobs don't lock the position in place, they move it. Tighten the lock knob for pan or tilt and you've lost the subject out of the frame. Result, a lot of frustration. Bottom line, you get what you pay for.

Great starter/intermediate fluid head!
You don't need to super expensive fluid heads. This has worked so well for me for over 50 commercial shoots, and 20+ interviews. Movements were extremely smooth and if anything were inconsistent, I would use 'warp stabelizer' in Premiere Pro and all is well. No need to invest in the expensive ones if you are on a budget.

Not a Great Video Head but Cheap and Lightweight
I wasn't expecting a great deal for the price and bought it for using as a backup / second video head on a tripod and slider. The head is made of a hard plastic although the quick release plate is a softer material and distorts easily. I didn't have any confidence in it using my Panasonic GH4 mounted in a medium rig (4kg total), especially when tilting up or down as it can be seen flexing. In cold conditions the plastic is likely to become very brittle and break in use. Additionally, the QR plate only has a single 1/4 screw (it comes with a 1/4 to 3/8 adapter) so there is only a single fixing point to your rig or camera which leads to the rig / camera rotating on the plate (there is a retractable locking pin which may be suitable for some devices). Both pan and tilt resistance are adjustable but even at the maximum resistance the tilt won't hold position without using the locking screw. Likewise for the pan, to get good resistance you need to tighten the locking screw a little, which causes the pan motion to jerk. It does lock off quite well at just about any angle, but even with small gear I wouldn't have faith in the QR plate. One thing in its favour is being plastic its light, but even for very occasional video use I wouldn't recommend this. The quality is OK but it's more like a head you would get on a cheap tripod kit costing about £30 total. I have since returned the item and will purchase something made of metal as a backup / second head.
