Ingenious, simple desgn that works!
This is a perfect example of a very simple, elegant solution to a challenge. As a Google Trusted Photographer, I produce Inside View google tours of businesses. One of the requirements is that we photograph the entry to the business with the doors standing open. Business exterior doors are always self-closing so I've been carrying a wide selection of wedge-style door stops. Because of the wide variety of doors I encounter, I often have a challenge getting them to stay open for several minutes while I photograph the entrance of the business. The Wedge-it is great, and has simplified this task. They're small, lightweight, and very durable, and make propping the doors open a simple job. I chose the black version since I don't want them to be obvious in the photographs, but the bright coloured ones would be better for the emergency services uses it was originally designed for so there is less chance of leaving them behind. If you have a need to prop open a wide variety of doors, I highly recommend the Wedge-It. It's simple and it WORKS.

Just what I wanted
*update* 01/29/2015We haven't been using this because the wedge now slides. It doesn't work at the top of the door or in the crack due to the sort of hinge we have (it's a light door with a floating hinge, of sorts). For the year or so of use, I think it was overpriced. It may be better for different door sorts, though.Original review:This is just what I was looking for! Our office had a problem rubber door stop that never worked and the door always won. This door stop, however, holds firm. It looks a little strange, but it's solid. I think this is something that will not have to be replaced, which makes the price more reasonable. It can easily hold open a door from multiple locations, it doesn't get stuck when it shouldn't, and it's easy to use.

Good design
I use this to keep a door open that wants to close every time we open a window. It’s a solid, easy to use and unobtrusive door stopper.

So far does the job
We have a balcony door that we were having trouble with when it got windy. We were using a sandbag, but if it got super windy it wouldn't stay open completely. So far this is working fine. We haven't had too many very windy days, but it's been working well. We've been using it in the hinge, not at the bottom of the door. I suspect that if it's super windy and it's in the hinge, it might break it - it's not cheap plastic but it also isn't the highest quality plastic. I mean, plastic is plastic, given enough pressure it will break. So for those very windy days we plan on using it at the bottom of the door. We are satisfied with this product.

Great Doorstop if you are looking for quality!
Being a freshman in college, the Wedge-it door stop lasted me a good 6 or 7 months and I have no complaints. Today, it snapped at the top of the arch from, presumably, a heavy and inconsiderate force: my roommate. With the heavy back-pressure of the door and constant use, the wedge-it did its job. As apposed to our issued door stop, which would malfunction once a small film of dust covered the bottom, this wedge never slipped and was very secure. If you are looking for a very top-notch door stop, this is it. Once you get over the banter from your colleges and friends for buying a "weird lookin doorstop," you will have no second thoughts and your friends will, most likely, become envious of the sheer power and engineering masterpiece of this purchase.I did not use any of its other features in fear it would leave marks on the door frame but I have no doubt it would preform exceptionally.

Great for doors that are too high off the ground for a door stop!
I like keeping my back door open for air sometimes but my door swings shut (even slams at times). Door stops I tried were too short and didn’t keep the door open. This is amazing and the door can’t accidentally close if bumped.

Worth its weight!
I work in public safety, and these are absolutely essential for holding doors open. They work exactly as described, and I carry two or three in my kit nearly everywhere I go. I even gave my wife one to keep in her purse, in case she has to evacuate her office building and isn't sure a fire escape stairwell is safe. She can block the door open until she finds safe passage. If left there, we're only out a few bucks.I find myself using the feature where you just drop it over the hinge. No reaching or stooping, easy to claim, and works perfectly.

Solidly built, but not appropriate for all situations
This seemed like a great product, but I had a few issues with it that made it a poor choice for me. I was using it on my bedroom door since the gap under the door was too high for traditional door stops. The problem is that I get a significant draft through my apartment that tends to blow the door shut, hence why I needed a doorstop to begin with. The problem with this doorstop is that it doesn't keep the door in a fixed position when used hung over the hinges, it just prevents it from shutting. The play it allowed meant the door was still constantly trying to close because of the wind and I quickly discovered the strain was pulling the brackets out of the wood door frame, badly damaging the door frame itself as the screws were stripped out. Needless to say, I stopped using it on any doors in my apartment.I set it aside, thinking it might be useful in the future under different conditions and thought I'd discovered them when I needed to hold open a self-closing door to a stairwell for some movers. No wind there, so thought it was perfect for that. Until one of the movers didn't see the doorstop and closed the door, snapping it in half. Not quite as indestructible as it seems. I think for the right job, this would be an excellent doorstop, but it does have some limitations, depending on what you need it to do.

Teppichboden findet der Wedge-It schlecht Halt. Das Material des Wedge-It sollte elastischer sein, dann ließe er sich weiter unter das Türblatt schieben und hätte einen festeren Sitz.

Great versatility!
We were looking for a way to keep our exterior door into our garage open in nice weather. After many years of using a bungy cord, and many days of researching options, this nailed it! Love it and have recommended it to friends and family.
