Sadly, probably getting returned. I was excited when I got this. I'm out in it for the first time as I write this review. It went up easily, the stakes are nice and sharp, they went in with less effort than I expected. I'm staying quite warm in the daylight. Unfortunately as the sun was moving overhead I saw light coming through the black of one wall. Sure enough, several noticable holes, one nearly as large as my index finger. I carried the shelter in it's bag on a sled so it wasn't dragged over any rough terrain. I am sure I didn't cause this.Edit the day my review went live: The seller offered to send a patch kit if I changed my review. While I appreciate they want to make things right, I want an exchange for a product without obvious defects. Not a patch kit. If I buy tires for my car and one has a hole in it I want a new tire, not a tire plug. If the exchange goes well and has no issues I will be happy to add stars to the review.

I bought this for winter camping. It is very roomy, well constructed and easy to set up. I modified it for a woodstove (made a removable window stove jack), "Camp-Dry'd" the roof for added protection from snow melt, and added a ground tarp. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a "cabin-like" winter camping experience or a roomy ice-fishing excursion. The only down-side is it doesn't like to go back in the carry bag and its a bit heavy to lug around.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband who wanted to get back on the ice now that our kids are old enough to enjoy it. There are plenty of interior pockets and storage for phones, mittens and snacks so you can keep everything up and off the ice, and there was plenty of room for comfort. At one time we had five people in the tent and were well spaced. I saw it was advertised as a 6-8 person shelter.. but I think it's probably better suited for 4-6 people--unless they are very petite people or small children. This really is designed for a family to use. I don't think it would be easy to set up alone--it's simple enough, but the size of it would make it difficult. I would hold one end steady while my husband used the pulleys to pull open each side--I can't see that working with just one person, so don't buy this if you just plan to use it as a solo shelter. Also, keep in mind that with it being so large, you may want to consider a larger than average heat source since it's not insulated. Our little propane heater wasn't quite cutting with it being 18 degrees out. If you're in and out monitoring pop-up holes or talking with other fisherman, it gets cold pretty quickly in there. Overall, we are really pleased with the product--it's exactly what we needed to get back into ice fishing this winter with the kids. It's large enough for the family, quick to set up, and and very sturdy.

If you are a hard-core ice fisherperson, meaning you will go out under any weather conditions, you may want to consider an insulated tent. However, I have used this tent for the past 3 weeks in temps between 10-25 degrees Fahrenheit and couldn't be happier. I use a Big Buddy heater and on medium, the temp is more than comfortable, on high had to turn it down. The fabric is fairly thick for a non-insulated tent. The inside pockets are nice to have for storage. The tent is tight, so no wind caving the sides. Like all non-insulated tents, some condensation will form on the sides and ceiling, but it dries very quickly with the heat on. Assembly very easy. The insulated tents are more heat efficient, but they are also much heavier, and require drying after use. At half the price point of big name brands, I am extremely please with this purchase.

Very little pin holes seen from inside shack like other brands. The two door design is a big feature for me. The door openings are so big which makes it so easy to get in and out. The windows I like and don’t like. The window flaps have to be opened and shout from the outside. Put I think they did this to help keep the ice shack warmer on them cold days. But besides that I would highly suggest buying one of these shacks. Best bang for your buck in my mind.

This Ice house is Huge. It is always hard to put in to thoughts of how big something is by numbers when it says it is a 6 person how close would you have to sit is usually what i think. Well with this I can say after setting it up very easily, and quickly, I am confident that you can easily fit 6 people in here and still have room to move. If i had to pick a down fall of this product it is covers to block the sun are on the outside.

Honest review its good for a shelter that will keep you warm and have space. But after using it once or twice you can start to see the light blue fabric where the sunlight shines at it and the windows not even gonna talk about lol but overall its ok not for the pricing tho if i were you just throw in acouple more bucks and get the better name brands.

This “shanty” was recommended to me by my son as a gift for my daughter’s young family of four. While it’s too early to tell specifics, they were thrilled with the size of it. They set it up at home, and put in a heater and had a fun family day...!My son and son-in-law are outdoors people...I trust it was a great buy! Just waiting for a good ice fishing day!
