Luv my planets!

Great for young planet enthusiasts.
Bought this for my 6 year old son and he likes them a lot now they're finally up on his ceiling. There are 9 planets included aswell as planet labels and a sheet of glow in the dark star/asteroid stickers. You really can create a solar system on your ceiling. It's easy to tell the planets apart as they are vaguely coloured/patterned and sized relevantly. They are made of quite flimsy brittle plastic though which may crack if dropped. Was quite fiddly to attach thread ready for hanging but the pins and tack provided has kept them up without any incident. They do glow in the dark after a few minutes of light exposure beforehand, but only for a short while (not all night though!!!!). They are a great visual illustration for any child with a keen interest in planets and the solar system but don't expect a planetarium experience!

Fantastic!!
Bought this set for my son for Christmas 2 years ago and they’re still going strong on his ceiling! Still light up so bright at night. Loads of little star stickers for the ceiling included. Absolutely fantastic quality. My son still absolutely loves his ceiling at night. HighlyRecommend! Would buy again without a second thought!

it goes together very easily and hangs perfectly with the included wire
Got this for my 5yr old son who's into planets and space. Just got it all together earlier and all hung up in his room. He loves it, it goes together very easily and hangs perfectly with the included wire. We left the labels off as my lad knows all the planets names and order! It glows nice in the dark, not too bright as to keep him awake. We used the ceiling light bulb as the sun. Perfect!

Not convinced
The idea of these is great. When you put them up, make sure you do it near the ceiling light otherwise your child (or muggins) will have to charge them up with a torch every night! They are rather a hassle to hang and would probably damage a smooth ceiling. That's one plus point for Artex then! They also don't glow for that long.

which wouldn't be so bad if it didn't cost so much and did what ...
Update: a few months after writing the below they have started to glow occasionally, I’ve no idea what’s changed but there you go. They look pretty cool when glowing.I'm surprised by the positive ratings on here because these don't glow in the dark even a little. I even tried putting in a brighter lightbulb in the room (which is now too bright) and it didn't even produce the faintest flow once the lights go out. Very cheap feel and look to it too, which wouldn't be so bad if it didn't cost so much and did what it was supposed to.

Not bad for a bit of fun and educational too - ...
I spent a whole Saturday afternoon placing the stars in the real constellations stretching from Orion to Ursa Major - ha ha ha! I used a planisphere to get true positions of the stars. My daughter loves it when I point to all the planets and tell her their names. The names of the planets are provided on little lables that also glow in the dark.OK, here's the problem: The stars and planets only glow for about 5 minutes. At the moment, this is long enough to send her off to sleep, but in the future she's going to be real dissappointed! Not bad for a bit of fun and educational too - if you're prepared to have an aching neck the next day ;-)
