FEFE 10 Items Chinese Calligraphy Writing and Brush Painting / Kanji / Sumi Set (Basic)

Godd for a true beginner, just investigating chinese calligraphy, but the small plastic brushes will leave an experienced artist a little less enthusiatic. It is okay for the price, though, and def a nice little gift for someone just wants to see if they might like it. Does NOT come with any instructions, though, so go to the library and check out a couple books or buy some to tell you what to do with the pieces you are given. My teen daughter, excellent artist was also able to carve her soap stone stamp into her choice of design with some careful work with an exacto knife. That would def require adult help for younger children.

It's just what I paid for and expected. I could not use the charcoal provided with the set, so I bought a separate bottle of ink. I am a beginner and novice. Thank you FEFE

I had to soak the brush for an hour and then it was still a lot of work to get the bristles separated. The brushes are tiny toys, not large enough for a beginner. I watched a lot of lessons on you tube and no one was using these miniscule things.

Very good for introducing calligraphy as a new hobby and piquing interest. Not the best quality, but it does its job for a while

Got here on time. Looks like it will be helpful but won't know til I go to class.

Maybe ok for a beginner. Brushes are small and the ink made with the stick is not dark enough.

This was part of a gift to my girl friend she loves it. She is looking to buy related items.
