Do I need a special pencil sharpener for these because of triangle shape and " grips"?

No. They sharpen fine with any standard hand or electric sharpener. These are great pencils!

Does anyone have a problem with these being way too light? I just ordered some and they sure don' t write like 2.5 hb as written on the pencil.

They are light for an HB but I like the grip and having an eraser atop a drawing pencil so stick with them. If they offered a B with an eraser and grip 8 might switch but so far as I know they don't. I achieve a variety of tones by layering my shading.
