VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER
After doing much research on different portable power stations I chose the Ecoflow Pro and I'm happy I did. The main use I have for this power supply is to run my Iceco VL fridge. Our 7 year old son has Diabetes type 1, and keeping his medicine below 80 degrees F is our #1 priority on road trips. The Ecoflow Pro does what it says it will do. I also purchased the extra battery for added comfort and extra measures. I have equipped my truck with a 100 watt solar panel that is permanently mounted above the cab. On our last camping trip I made sure the Ecoflow Pro and extra battery were fully charged before we left. I stocked the Ice fridge fully and made sure it was at 36 degrees F before we left. After a two hour drive, because of the solar panel, I still had 100% of battery when we arrived to our camping destination. Because of the pass through charging capabilities of the Ecoflow Pro, the Iceco fridge was powered by the solar panel. When we lost sunlight is when the Ecoflow began to shine. With 5 people constantly opening and closing the cooler over night, our Ice fridge remained at 36-40 degrees F, which is perfect for our food, drinks, and most importantly diabetic medicine (insulin). By morning, before the solar charger started producing, the battery level of the Ecoflow pro only dropped to 78%! And by noon the same day, the solar panel had fully recharged the EF Pro to 100%, and once again, the sun powered our Ice for the remainder of the day. On our last day we had some clouds however the panel was still able to bring the EF Pro back to 100% before the sun started to fall. When we arrived home from our trip the EF Pro only fell to 78% at its lowest point during our entire camping trip and I was EXTREMELY impressed. I am so happy with my purchase that I also purchased the Ecoflow Max and I have the same enthusiasm as well with its performance. One of the features I like most about the EF Pro and Max is their charging capabilities. Both units will recharge from 0% to 100% in less than 2 hours, and to me that is important. Also, these have an "auto" feature for charging. My truck has a built in inverter that puts out 400 watts. I also have a "cigarette" style power supply in the bed of my truck, however I don't use it, but I could if I needed to. But the main point is that I can leave the AC charging port of the EF Pro plugged in to the inverter of my truck AND have the solar panel connected at the same time. If I'm driving on a cloudy day or at night, the unit will automatically charge from the AC plug and if I am parked and the vehicle is not running, the EF Pro will automatically switch to solar charging. I can't express the comfort, convenience, and safety I feel now that I have the EF Pro working for me and strongly feel that everyone else with this unit will experience the same "quality of life" feeling I have, knowing that their possession of an Ecoflow Pro will perform it's duties very well with a sense of security. Now the bad: there really isn't any bad, just one small annoyance and that is the wifi and app connection of these Ecoflow products. They connect to your device via wifi which if you are at home isn't much of an issue. BUT, if you are camping wifi doesn't really help you much. It would be nice to see a bluetooth feature in the future however there is one plus side of the wifi. If you are away from home and you have cell phone reception you can actually monitor the status of the EF Pro if it is at home and connected to wifi. This is actually a great feature if you are using the EF Pro as a UPS unit. Even with this minor annoyance of lack of bluetooth, I still give the EF Pro a 5 star rating and will probably purchase more of these just to have for backup reasons. I haven't even mentioned the 100w usb-c charging port, which works flawlessly. The AC ports worked great with our air pump for inflatable mattresses and boats. If you're an "outdoorsy" that needs to charge drones, cameras, phones, anything with a battery, look no further, the EcoFlow products are an excellent choice and money well spent.

Great little mid sized & compact solar generator!
This unit came well packaged, and fast. We had been looking for a home solar generator to supplement our dual fuel generator in case of an outage. The pros: It charges extremely fast. My experience was 3% to 100% in about an hour plugged in. This was good because if I had to charge it up with my generator, that means less fuel used. I assume the solar charging capabilities would be the same . My first test, and the main reason I bought it was to keep my 7cu ft deep freezer running. I charged to 100% before use and then plugged it in. The unit took the load and ran it perfectly overnight, about 12 hours. You can see the voltage load from the freezer cycling off and on and our freezer stabilizes at about 550- 600 watts after a brief surge. The Ecoflow handled it perfectly. The next test I did was attach my surge protector power strip to it and plugged both of my freezers 7cu ft freezers into the power strip. The Ecoflow handled both perfectly again but for a shorter time, about 6-7 hours. I could have run it probably a bit longer, say 8-10 but I was about to go to sleep and didn't want it to die overnight. This test was pretty acceptable for me because I could potentially see using the solar gen in an emergency power outage overnight and charging it back up with my propane gen the next day. For a temporary outage, this would be fine for a few days to a few weeks if you have enough fuel or a big solar panel to recharge it. The price is also really good! I got a $30 instant savings coupon and got mine for about $540 us tax. For the money, this is a solid first of supplemental power system. If you combined this with a generator or even two of these, I think it would be very useful in a temporary power outage to keep most things going until the power comes back on. The drawback: It took me a bit of searching but I found the charge cycle stays which state this unit is good for about 500 charges from zero to 100% before it starts to degrade. That seems like a lot except if your looking at an extended power outage or if it's going to be used in an area with no power, that's a little over a year. I'm also pretty sure the max solar wattage it will take is 200 watts. That's kind of on the smaller side if you are a prepper or living off grid. But for most backyard preparedness minded people, that should be fine. Hopefully that helps, overall im very happy with the performance for the money. I will probably be looking I to buying either a second unit to rotate the charge/use cycles and extend the life of the units or possibly something bigger with a higher charge cycle life in the future.

UPDATE: 5 Stars with New Firmware (OLD: Disappointingly Loud, Only Good for Some Purposes)
UPDATE: I persevered with getting my mobile app to connect to the EcoFlow in order to give this thing a fair shake. I'm glad I did, because the newest firmware update solves almost all of my gripes. The only gripe I have now is the placement of the flashlight. The firmware solves most of the fan problems, having the fan only kick on when the device is hot. There is a "Quiet Charge" mode that reduces the charging wattage to 100W to prevent the fan from turning on. That means that it will not kick on when the battery is plugged in and fully charged (or charging slowly); it will not kick on when AC power is on without a device connected. Additionally, the app allows you to shut off the annoying beeping noise every time a button is pressed. Now, with the app working properly, the beeping shut off, and the fans silenced when not truly needed, this device is truly 4.75 stars (-0.25 for the placement of the light), and it should serve me well for camping and off-grid telework. PREVIOUS: I had incredibly high hopes for this generator based on all of the rave reviews, and I was so excited to receive the package in the mail. However, I now question the integrity of many of those reviews, as I'm quite disappointed. Perhaps it is asking too much to have quiet fans. I purchased this as a multipurpose battery: camping, road travel and outdoor telework, portable supply for light farm use, outdoor movie night, and backup for power outages. After just 24 hours with this thing, I can tell you that it is only suitable for light farm use and power backup. The number one reason for this is the obnoxiously loud fans. Do not believe the reviews that say the fans aren't loud; they are loud. They are loud enough that if you have this thing in your tent, they will drive you crazy. They are loud enough that if you have it in your car, they will drive you crazy. If you and your significant other are cuddling in a tent watching a movie on your laptop, the fans will keep you from enjoying the movie. The fans are on whenever the battery is charging or connected for charging (i.e. even at 100% charge, the fans will run). The fans are on whenever you have AC power turned on, even if you aren't drawing power. I connected a 7w light, and the fans were running. I disconnected the light, now drawing 0 watts, and the fans stayed on. My wife, sitting 20 feet away two rooms over could hear the fans and said, "SEND IT BACK!" Enough with the fans. The other noise is an obnoxiously loud beep whenever a button is pushed: the flashlight button, the power button, the AC button, etc. There should be a way to adjust the volume, because again, if we're camping or in the car, this beep is irritatingly loud. On to the UI/UX: First, I find it incredibly annoying that some options can only be set through an app that connects via WiFi. Bluetooth would have been must better, but better yet would be an on-screen menu. The app itself looks pretty, but does not function very well. The company seems more concerned about cosmetics than functionality. To be honest, I never fully got the app set up because, although I went through the registration process, WiFi setup process, etc, the device itself had trouble connecting to my home network. This would cause the app to not save the device which I had just added, so I was caught in an endless loop. I gave up. The flashlight: My final gripe is the placement of the flashlight. Why in the heck is it placed on the front? It makes it totally unusable. At the very least they could have placed it on the back side, where it would shine in the opposite direction of the status screen as to not blind you at night. Even better though, they could have placed it like the Jackery where it is on the end; with this direction, it then acts like a flashlight as you are walking with it along a path at night. Instead, it is nearly impossible to use it for another other than an emergency light. One last negative note: While this can power devices up to 1200w (temporary surge to 1800w), it comes with a catch. It is best done for things with heating elements which don't require high voltage because it accomplishes the additional wattage by reducing the voltage. This is not a dealbreaker, but it is something that i don't feel is very clearly advertised. The good: It's certainly not all bad, especially if you don't want to use this thing close to you and expect quiet operation. The good: * First, the 700w+ of power is enough to keep all of our devices charged overnight while waiting for the sun to come up the next day to recharge from our solar panel. *I like the fact that the solar is nearly plug and play. I connected the EcoFlow (using the included cable) directly to my $90 Renogy 100w panel, and it got to work charging, even displaying the amount of watts it was generating. I found this to be outstanding. I have not tried to charge from my car yet, but included was a cigarette lighter charging cable. * The weight and size are excellent for all-around use. * The color/design is very nice and aesthetically pleasing. * Three AC power ports is nice, when other brands only offer 1 or 2. * The packaging of the device was outstanding. * Charging (from AC) is super fast. It sustained about 600w draw or so to charge up in just over an hour. Overall, I'm giving the device 3 stars and we are possibly sending it back to purchase a Jackery (also has fans, but much cheaper) or some other custom solution. If we needed/wanted this device only for power backup and working around the farm (i.e. powering tools far from an outlet), this would be an excellent device for us. However, we primarily planned to use it for camping, road trips, and teleworking out of our SUV...for that, the fans are simply unbearable. We would rather save $130 and get the Jackery, despite slightly lower output. Apparently the Jackery also has a fan that is on when the AC power inverter is turned on, but I would rather save the money.

Neat product but the apps support line is a failure - Edit:9-27-22
The EcoFlow River Pro was working flawlessly for about 6months but now it’s giving out and error for overload when trying to turn on the ac outlets the usb ports still work. The app works ok for operating the unit, but if you use the help center and want to talk to customer service it just ends up not sending anything and I have to retry the process all over again. I’ve tried it at least 3 different app updates hoping I could get through but to no avail. Now, I must use the amazon review process to at least hopefully reach them and hoping that I can get some assistance on my product. Edit: 9-27-22 After contacting EcoFlow and they helped me get a replacement for my issues and I am glad for their communication and cooperation with returning and sending a replacement for the product. The Ecoflow Rivier Pro is a powerful tool for those who want portable power outside the range of an outlet. AC fast charging is useful in a pinch when i needed to use a power tool when fixing electrical work. Speaking of fast charging, I have noticed that the cooling fan activates more often and keeping the unit at 30°C indoors, which is useful in texas heat. App is still cumbersome to work on (the only way to activate turbo charge and X-boost is through the app) but it is nice to see the real-time update status on the unit while away off location. Another feature of the app is the ability to control some features while at work. I wish there were ways to access some features through the unit itself. Overall the product does its job and provides solid power for 2-4 hr long outing at medium usage.

Total fail with the app
Update July 2022: EcoFlow promised that they would add a "tourist mode" (that's what they called it) to allow the unit to be paired with a phone without requiring sign-in to the app. That was last year. There have been lots of app updates, but I haven't heard a word from EcoFlow. They also said that future app updates would not result in the app being signed out - WRONG. Almost every update, the app ends up in the signed out state. I went off-grid a few days ago, and went to launch the app... surprise! It's signed out. And the unit was stuck on Slow Charge, and I had no way to change it. Meanwhile, they seem to have lots of time to develop new products. But no time to fix broken products. I think all EcoFlow cares about is making money. Update 8-12-21: So I went camping where there is no service; the app was updated on my phone prior to going on the trip. At my destination, opened the app find it was logged out due to the update. With no service, the app couldn't be launched. EcoFlow, please fix this. I bought this for off-grid use, such as camping in the middle of nowhere. But, this requires internet. Yes, you read that correctly. Some of the features are ONLY in the app, and the app REQUIRES internet. And it requires you to have it connected to their servers. That's ridiculous - this is a battery pack. Who designs a battery pack that needs to connect to a corporate server? It's just a BATTERY. They could have easily put ALL the features in the main control panel, and added "remote" features to the app. If they did that, it would be fine. A sticker on the unit says "X-Boost must be turned off in the EcoFlow app" to turn on the AC power. So I'm in the middle of nowhere, with no internet, and what, now I can't turn on the AC output? Because I have no internet. Totally bad engineering. Just for the total fail with the app, which is super disappointing, I do not recommend this. Now if you think that you'll be "connected" 24/7, then here's my take on the rest of it. It charges very quickly. Mine was 30% charged out of the box. Plugged in to wall, it reached 97% in an hour. Ten minutes later it was at 100%. With two 100 watt solar panes (that actually output 100 watts), wired in parallel, I was able to charge at a rate of 190 watts; of course solar output will vary during the day, but I was easily able to charge it from 10% to 100% in about 4 hours. Car charging was slower, but that's just due to to the limitation of most 12v sockets which typically can only provide around 10 amps (about 120 watts). AC output voltage is accurate and steady at 120v, frequency measures exactly 60.0 Hz. On an oscilloscope, output is a clean sine wave with negligible noise. The AC output is ungrounded, or what some people call a "floating" ground. The neutral is not bonded to the chassis. For general use, this is ok, and does not present a hazard. Make sure you do NOT ground this unit under normal use, or you will create a shock hazard. Despite not having a ground circuit, you can still use a portable GFCI for additional protection, and it will work correctly. Now about X-Boost - it's marketing deception. This unit will provide 600 watts. PERIOD. That's all. No more. It will support a very short 1200 watt surge, only a fraction of second, which will allow *some* devices that draw under 600 watts to start, such as those with capacitive start motors. Again, it will NOT give you over 600 watts of running power. Ever. So what does it do? It simply drops the voltage, and you get a resulting current drop. Example: your hair dryer uses 400 watts on Low, you plug it in, it works fine. You want to use your hair dryer on High, which draws 1200 watts, so you turn on X-Boost. What you get is 600 watts of low voltage, low current to your hair dryer - it runs slow, and only gives less than 600 watts of heat. DC open circuit voltage is 13.57, which is appropriate for almost all "12 volt" devices, and will prevent some devices from shutting down from sensing a "low battery." For example, many portable refrigerators have a battery saver, and will shut off above 12.0 volts (mine shuts off at 12.1). All the ports charge as expected - USB, USB-C, etc. Run time at the C5 rate is as advertised. If you use higher powered devices, expect a correspondingly shorter run time, which is completely normal. The display is easy to read, but could be much better. For one, it's blue. I hate blue. It's trendy, and looks gimmicky. It would be much more practical with a green/red backlit LCD, which can be read in bright sunlight and total darkness. Useful info is missing, such as voltage. However, there's enough generic info to tell you when it's about to go dead. The built-in light is kind of weird. What's really needed is panel lighting so you can see the ports at night, not a arbitrarily placed flashlight. I have tons of flashlights, I don't need an 18 pound light that barely illuminates anything. The display shows 1w and 3w of power for Low and High respectively. I measured about 30 lumens on low, 100 on high and SOS. The beam is a sickly blue and green combo of hot spot and concentric rings, not that great. It's mostly a "last resort" kind of thing. I covered it with a diffuser, and it's way more useful. Summary: 5 stars for the power circuit / battery, size, form factor. 4 stars for general usability. 0 stars for adding an app and trying to make a battery into something it will never be. UPDATE: I bought the extra battery, here's my thoughts on that. It's basically just a big chunk of battery with a handle, and like the primary unit, it's fairly light weight and easy to carry. There's a 5-segment charge level indicator, and a over/under temp indicator light. The power switch will turn on both units when they are connected. Other than that, there are no other features, and it is simple and easy to use. After testing with various loads, I found run time to be as advertised. Combined with the River Pro, you've got 1400+ WH of power - very nice. Now for my gripe - the connector. EcoFlow literally used a connector from the 1950's that is not designed for power transfer. They even used an old design, with plastic thumbscrews that are difficult to grab, and difficult to use. There are so many other, better power connectors on the market, I can only think that they chose these to save money, which was a bad choice. ZERO stars for the connector, 5 stars for the overall design of the battery pack.

It really does fully charge in <2 hours
I've read all the other reviews, and they're not entirely wrong but For what it is, this is still a solid buy. Yeah, it loses a little charge overnight if you don't power it fully off. And yeah, it seems like it's storage capacity is a little less than promised. This isn't some super long term emergency power storage solution. It's a "I want to use it every day, and I'm going to charge it everyday" solution. I charged it to 100% and then spent the next week and a half charging all my electronics off of it. Phone, tablet, bluetooth safety earmuffs, electric beard trimmer, headlamp, flashlights. It fast charges my devices that can be fast charged. It probably won't run your full size refrigerator for more than 5-6 hours, but it will keep your phone charged for several weeks. I'm satisfied with this purchase because it fits my needs. It may not fit your needs, but if you're like me who wants to use power every day and can charge it at least every 2-3 days, this is a great piece of equipment. *3 months in now and I'm still very satisfied. I took it to the maintenance shop at work and the electricians all got really excited over it. We plugged a heat gun into it and were pumping out ~950W. I can run a 220W blender for hours. I'm shopping for a tiny microwave that I will plug into this. Yeah, the whole r600 & this not having a LiFePo battery is frustrating to learn. But this power station does everything I need it to and more. Plug this into the right wall outlet and it charges at ~650W. Plug it into your car's cigarette lighter while driving and 125W come in, allowing you to power a 45W portable refrigerator AND continue to charge the battery. As long as your driving, with this power station you have unlimited power.

Owned for 5 years and still a treasure!!!
It has been almost 6 years since I ordered the Ecoflow River Pro and it has served me very well. I have used it during blackouts, on the road, while camping and even just as a charger in my bedroom. The performance is outstanding and the battery life is long. The fact that it can handle high surges and also intelligently handle dangerous errors and issues is top notch. Can charge to full in an hour or less using a smart burst up to 600 watts on an outlet that can handle it. Also has received at least one firmware update that added a battery protection feature etc. The real deal is that this battery was expensive and worth every penny. I am so very happy to own it. A story to leave you with: I once jump started my car with this thing (NOT recommended, and NOT a feature Ecoflow has added to this battery) and it saved me, although it also gave me 5 error shutdowns to try and keep me from destroying my car! Don’t try that please, but know that this battery is versatile! Thanks Ecoflow

Wow! This Ecoflow River Pro does not disappoint!
After reading reviews this came up on amazon BF sales. I was looking for a small unit for my elderly mother to use during power outages. I really wanted her to be able to run her TV and keurig coffee pot. The unit is lighter than I expected and came at 30% charge. It quickly charged to 100 in less than 2 hours. So love how fast it will charge on a 110. (You could also charge in your car for camping/emergency/ or use solar panels. The X boost feature is really what makes this thing though. It had no problem running a hot pot to boil water, a keurig machine, TV, and her gas fireplace fan. I have no doubt it could keep a fridge going too if needed. It did cycle up the fan running the keurig but it is pretty silent. It is an excellent unit, and feels of good quality throughout. I am not sure exactly about the flashlight, but I guess if you needed it in an emergency. I do wish the buttons in general were back lit. But very small issue. If you are even thinking of it get it. Also have ability to add solar panels and additional battery if needed!
