This review is base on what the product does compare to what the description says it does. The IR portion of the remote works flawless at least with my 2012 LG TV and 2012 Samsung both non smart TVs. Teaching the buttons wasn't hard and it took me maybe about 5mins to do it. I have a Nexus player that I'm using it with and it works perfect. Home, back, play/pause and of course the directional buttons. I was surprised the mic work when using the mic icon on the Nexus player. The cursor also works but I'm not a big fan and I wish I can deactivated permanent but I can't. This remote does exactly what the description says I just wish there was couple changes. It doesnt have backlight which is nice to have since you have to hit "tv" if you're using the RF and want to lower or raise the volume. Which comes to my next point, I wish I could use volume up/down regardless if I'm in IR or RF but it doesn't have the ability to do that. Base on this I give it 5 stars bc the remote is true to the description. I'll give it 4 stars base on the things I wish it did which would make this remote perfect. I almost forgot, the keyboard works good but it's a little weird using the middle keys.

Primary functions work on Android TV 6.0 and 7.0
This is a product review for people with proper Android TV devices such as the Sony Bravia TV, Xiaomi Mi Box 3, Nvidia Shield, and Nexus Player. The "air mouse" functionality works well enough, but I highly recommend turning the speed down to it's slowest setting in order to get any degree of usable accuracy. The channel up/down option does not work on the Google Live Channels app, but it does work perfectly fine on HDHomeRun. The microphone does not have any compatibility whatsoever with Android TV, absolutely no app I have tried has been able to access the microphone on this remote. Pressing the mic button does not activate Google Assistant/Google Now. On the other hand, the search button at the top left of the controller will actually open Google Assistant/Now if you are on the home page, but obviously that won't work too well without a proper microphone. On Sony Bravia TVs, the movie button (which looks like a Clapper Board) opens up the integrated local video player app (pretty useless for most people), but has no function on other Android TV boxes that I could find. Buttons with no discernible function on Android TV include: - The secondary action (settings) button to the left of the home button - The microphone button - The TV button - The exclamation mark button (under the clapperboard) - The DEL button (within the number block on the front side of the remote) - The Zoom + and Zoom - button (top of the remote) For Mi Box users running Android 6.0: You will need to enable Developer Settings and turn on the "Always Awake" setting or else the Mi Box will power down the USB receiver to save power, causing the remote to periodically stop working after periods of inactivity. You will not be able to power on the device using the power button on this remote. It appears as if the Mi Box turns off waking commands from the USB ports after about 5 seconds of the device being put to sleep. You will need to unplug and replug in the dongle for your remote to resume normal function. In addition, if you restart the Mi Box with the dongle plugged in, the dongle will not connect to the remote until replugged. This may be a deal breaker for people who keep their Mi Boxes in places that are not easily accessible.

This is the One to Get
This is the 3rd version of this MX3-type remote that I have owned over a number of years. It is easily the best, and finally everything I have wanted all along. (Backlit + Mic version selected.) The 1st version (not purchased on Amazon) lacked backlighting, had a bug that turned back on the air mouse every time you put it down, and also could not successfully be programmed to power on my Onkyo receiver. The 2nd version added key backlighting and fixed the air mouse bug. It also worked with all of my devices, although my Sony TV always requires a few attempts to get the power to switch off with this one. However, it had the top 4 keys mapped backwards, so FF/RW were switched with Next/Prev Track. That wasn't too bad, but what became very annoying, was that it would randomly double-click buttons I only typed once. This made volume adjustment and tracking difficult, and typing quite frustrating. The death-knell for that one, however, was when its batteries started to die every week or so. I guess that could be due to not powering down while idle, but this happened only after several years of regular use. Okay, on to the remote listed on this page, my 3rd variant. It fixes the double-click issue (types perfectly). Fixes the incorrectly mapped buttons from the previous model. The batteries seem to last fine so far. The air mouse not only functions as it is supposed to (doesn't turn itself back on), but the speed adjustment actually does something on this remote (I do wish there were more gradations though, as it only has maybe 3 settings, and they are very far apart). The backlighting is more white and easier to read. The programmable button for my Sony TV's power now works on the first press. Not only that, but this one ditches the useless mode that required you to toggle between the bottom 4 programmable IR buttons, or the rest of the RF buttons on the remote. On both prior versions, you always had to make sure you were in the correct mode for the type of button you were pressing. That never made sense to me. It's not like any of the buttons had 2 functions. So why can't we just use both types of button all of the time? Well on this remote, you finally can! No more pressing a button, wondering why it won't work, and then remembering that you left the remote in the other mode. Now the buttons simply do what they are supposed to without the need for mode-swapping. The voice control is not as capable or intuitive as something like a ROKU remote, but that is to be expected. You must engage Google Voice for the inputs to register. Sometimes this may require a bit of repetitive pressing until it comes up, but it is capable of voice-to-text inputs in search boxes, such as YouTube. However, it won't accept full commands to launch an app or something. It's just there to save you time in typing on the tiny keyboard side. Long story short, this may be the only remote with: Traditional remote layout (portrait, vol, mute, direction pad, back, etc.), programmable keys, full querty keyboard, gyro air mouse, plus optional backlighting and mic. I just purchased a second unit for my other TV.

TRIED to get to work with my NVidia Shield - NO GOOD!
This review is for the Remote with backlight and voice control. I purchased this remote because I despise the NVidia Shield remote control volume slider and I wanted a mouse/keyboard to make it easier to use overall. Unfortunately this remote didn't help at all. Here is my experience. Out of the box, the arrow buttons seemed to work, as well as the OK button. I could navigate (sometimes). My huge issue with this remote was programming. I could NOT understand the instruction manual (which I have attached for those who need it). I couldn't figure out how to even program it. I followed other people's advice, as well as watched several youtube videos. Eventually I got the power button to work. BUT, the remote ALWAYS flashed the LED light, and I mean any time you pressed a single button, the remote seemed to go into automatic learning mode, and the LED light would flash non-stop. It would not allow me to use the remote properly. I didn't even want to be in programming mode. I just wanted to use the 6 buttons that actually worked, but the remote wouldn't allow that. So if I pressed the down arrow to scroll down on my Shield, it would work only about 40-50% of the time, so you have to keep hitting down arrow to get it to go down. Also, specifically these arrow buttons seemed very flimsy to me, and I had to press really hard to make them work. I don't see this cheap plastic remote lasting long with the level of pressure needed to apply to get the buttons to work. AIR MOUSE - I have never used an air mouse before, so this was a new experience for me, but trying to use this thing, and the mouse was all over the screen! If you try to just aim it at a single spot you want to click, it takes 10-20 seconds to get it JUST to that sweet spot, and by then you are so frustrated, that you just go back to the old remote, and use it in 1 second. I gave up on the air mouse quickly. KEYBOARD - since my remote never stopped LED flashing, I can only review my experience. Using this remote in my living room, even during the day, it was difficult to see the keys well. I NEED to be able to see the keys, which to me REQUIRES a backlit keyboard. Unfortunately since mine only accepted about 50% of key inputs, you would have to press each button 1-2 times, and if you aren't quick enough in choosing your next button, the light will go off on you, and not being familiar with the keyboard, it takes time to learn where the buttons you use the most are located. So I learned quickly I need to be next to a lamp to use until I learned where all the buttons were. Even with light, using this keyboard was again, frustrating. Perhaps it all related to my LED flashing issue, and that's why key input wasn't working. PROBLEMS: Above and beyond my remote never exiting leaning mode, you will notice this listing offers 4 different remotes. I got the backlit voice control model, which has ALL white keys. The main photo in the listing shows a big BLUE OK button, a RED colored power button, and 4 color buttons are the bottom. My model was all white buttons, and the 4 at the bottom had small strips of color. The keyboard side has ZERO colors to differentiate any of the buttons or give reference to help you find often used buttons. Also, notice on the keyboard side, that there are tiny characters at the top of each button. Top of Q button is the number 1, top of A button is a question mark. Then at the bottom you have ESC, CAPS, and ALT buttons. Why wouldn't numbers be on separate keys? So if you need to key in a 7 digit code, you would have to press (can't remember even which key it was now), ESC Q (for a 1), then ESC E (to make it a 3), then ESC Y (for a 6). You get the drift. A lot of button pressing to key in some numbers. The period and comma buttons looked nearly the same to me, which means now I have to delete a key entry and re-do it. Perhaps if the remote worked with every entry, it wouldn't be an issue to learn the keyboard, but I kept having to enter, then check the TV screen to see if it accepted the input, then go back to the keyboard to find the next key input, with no colors to assist in finding the buttons. I contacted the seller for assistance, who replied back the first time with, let me check with engineering, then the second time asked me if everything else was "normal" with the remote. It's really hard to tell what normal is when I have never used the item before and don't know what "normal" means. Nothing seemed normal to me at all. I replied back describing everything that was happening. I asked for a user manual that was clear, and explained how to enter learning mode and how to exit learning mode. They never replied about a better manual. I asked for a youtube video that specifically dealt with the exact remote that I had in my hand, because all the video links I found from other people had slight different remotes, and my remote wasn't behaving like other remotes. Was mine defective or just needed me to enter a specific key combo to get it to work right? They asked me to send them a video of what was happening. That is a fair question, but only AFTER I determine how the remote is supposed to function, which required something the seller wasn't providing and I had asked for. I just wanted a manual that made sense, or a video that explained things better. I got neither. Quite frankly, I believe I got a dud. I see tons of happy people. There were a couple of occasions where it would work fine for a few seconds and navigation would be quick and easy, but then that would stop. It was SUPER frustrating straight out of the box. I attached the manual, so read it and try to figure out how to program a button, or how to exit learning mode, when you don't want to be in it. Back to Amazon for a refund. Wayyyyy to much hassle for me.

Lots of Potential But May Not Work With Your TV So Be Prepared To Return It. Also, Keyboard Not Backlit.
Summary: This Air Mouse has lots of functionality and is worth considering. The ability to program virtually all of the front keys and to toggle the keys between computer and IR functionality is very handy. However, the lack of a backlit keyboard makes typing numbers and special characters difficult. Programming the IR keys was a challenge because of the poorly written instructions and a mismatch between the outlined steps and how my particular unit functioned (I have provided ones that worked for me) but yours might work closer to what is described. Ultimately it did not work with my 3 year old SONY TV so I had to return it, but it might work with your IR device. Returning it is easy to there is no risk to giving it a try. ____________________________________ Detail: I purchased this device because I hoped it would be an upgrade over my current backlit 2.4Ghz Air Mouse (from Favormates) that only allows IR programming of the Power Key and four dedicated keys whereas this device allows programming of virtually all the keys on the front side. I like the Favormate remote (which Dupad Story also sells), but I really wanted one where I could re-program the labeled keys for my own purposes -- particularly volume up/down, mute, the page up/down keys to be channel up/down, and some other functions like Input. Unfortunately, after many hours of experimentation -- made challenging by the fact that the programming instructions didn't match the behavior of the remote -- I learned that while I could get all of these keys to work on a 10+ year old SONY Bravia TV I have, I could NOT get them to work at all with my 3 year old SONY Bravia 50W800B -- even though I was using the remote from the newer TV to do all the programming. This was the case even for the special programming buttons that work fine on my current Air Mouse. Since i wanted this to work with the new one I returned it. Throughout the process the company responded to my emails (overnight), sending me a link to an instructional video and a PDF for programming, and then sending me a replacement remote without first requiring that I send them the one I had. However, none of these efforts resolved the problem. Computer Mouse and keyboard: As a remote way to operate a computer, it appeared to work reasonably well, although I didn't try it very much. It can be programmed to change the speed of the cursor so that you don't have to change the mouse setting on your computer. However, one big downside is it is NOT backlit as my other Air Mouse. While the regular keys have a lot of contrast and readily visible, the number and special character keys are marked in blue-on-black that is virtually impossible to see the even when the room is lit. I am a long-time touch typist but this would have caused me significant problems. Infrared Programming: Unfortunately, the instructions that came with the device are somewhat broken English. More serious is that for both the original remote and the replacement, their description of the LED light did not exactly match the actual functioning. The vendor also sent me a PDF that was a little clearer, as well as link to a video (link is https : / / drive. google. com/ open? id=0B33XEtHEzY5DNnVJODRFLTlPOUk without the spaces), but these were all a little different from each other and none of them matched how my remotes behaved. If you can get your remote to program successfully using the original instructions they provide then skip the following. However, if you can't get the remote to program using their instructions, then here are the the steps I personnally evolved through trial-and-error that always worked for all the keys (except on my newer SONY TV as mentioned earlier): 1. Press and Hold the TV button (i.e. what they call a "Long Press") ==> The light will turn ON and stay ON continuously for 4-5 seconds. It will then will start to blink slowly, indicating it is in Learning Mode. Note - if pressing and holding initially causes the light to blink, then consider that the "short press" to turn on infrared mode their instructions mention and try again. 2. Press the button on your personal device remote that you want to program ==> The light will become solid On and stay on 3. Press the button on the Air Mouse remote that you want to program to that function ==> the light will resume blinking. 4. Press the TV button once ==> the light will stop blinking and the button will now work if you think you've programmed a function to the Air Mouse but the programmed buttons aren't working there are two things to try. First, pressing the TV Key toggles the remote into and out of Infrared mode, which is actually a great feature as it enables you to continue to use the keys for either their original pre-programmed purpose on the computer. In my case, the LED light flashes briefly once when going into Infrared mode and twice when exiting infrared mode but yours may be different so you may have to experiment (for example, the video shows the LED light as being continuously ON in infrared mode or OFF when not). Finally, if you think you've programmed one or more Air Mouse buttons correctly but the programmed buttons aren't working, try a different device. In my case, I couldn't get anything to work until I tried programming channel up/down and the channel numbers on my cable box -- all of which worked. Then I tried my older SONY TV (with the newer remote) and discovered I had been programming the device correctly -- it just didn't work. I hope the above is helpful and saves you some time. The good news is that it is easy to return (at least within 30 days). And, if it works with your IR device, the ability to reprogram almost all the keys -- and to toggle them back to the original computer functionality -- is really a powerful capability. Good luck

Functional, Good Deal
I got this for use with my Xiaomi Mi Box S Android TV box. It works, feels well made, and does what I need it to do. The only thing I do not like is that I was not able to program the actual volume buttons for use with my receiver. I was able to program two of the programable buttons to raise and lower volume - one for up, one for down. Some might not like that, but it's fine with me. I have tried other remotes, and although the volume button is a compromise, it seems to be the best I have found overall. Voice works well also, which was an issue on other remotes I tried.

The mouse is hard to use.
This remote was okay, I got it for the mouse to use with my LG smart tv. The initial setup took forever because it would not connect at first. The mouse is just all over the place and I have to hold my hand in order to control the mouse. And sometimes when the cursor is on the item to click the mouse will not respond. I give it two stars because my main purpose for it was for the mouse. The keyboard is very easy to use and I like the fact that it is on the back of the remote. The remote part of it is easy for power, volume control, and channels. However, I did have a problem with the guide and everything is.

Met all my expectations
Works surprisingly well! I can sit in a rocker about 10 feet from my computer (which has a large monitor attached), click the Hulu, Amazon, or Disney+ icons, and start watching! The only thing you have to remember is this is a mouse, not a standard remote control. So you have to actually move the cursor around the screen to what you want to click, and yes, that requires a steady hand. But you can go into settings and make the cursor pretty big, and that helps! You also can enlarge your screen icons if that's an issue. I haven't had occasion to use the voice control, so I can't speak to that (ahem), but otherwise has met all my expectations!

Great uplift over non voice MX 3 out there...
Very very good compared to all the other sh* chty remotes out there. However notably more keypad printing fade than previous X3 remotes I've had... don't really care as doesn't affect use... This version HAS got voice input... which is clunky.. but works by pressing the search button then holding the mic button on remote... whilst taking. Suggestion for product developers is to add " turn remote over to kill backlight" function... Backlight is too bright and times out too long in dark (bedroom/media room) surroundings... Turning over would be a great gesture addiction Bs pressing Diddley backlight button... and one I believe the remote is capable of - tech wise.

Voice input do not work. Mouse hangs after 10 sec until OK button pressed. Not a good item.
It stop working after 10 sec and freezes. I have to click OK button to move mouse. It happens every 10 sec. It stops until I press arrow button on TV The microphone never worked. I don't know how to use on TV box. The microphone button is present but nothing happens when I press it and speak something. It cannot be used for voice typing. I have h96pro TV box With 3gb ram and android 6.0 I paid rs 2700 for it but without voice input it's worth rs 800 airmouse. I lost rs 2000 on this unusable air mouse. Better I had purchased a simple air mouse for Rs 800 that have all features it provides.
