I had the black version with the plastic knob. My brother had had one in his home for more than 5 years without issue, but I seem to have bad luck with mine. One died after 9 months. The warranty replacement died after 4 months. No other issues in my home with other electrical products.Although there are reviews complaining about failing heaters for this model, it does seem to be better built with the nozzles being made of metal instead of plastic. It uses the same connectors and same mounting screw distance as the black model with the analog thermostat. I hoped the simpler model would be more reliable, but we’ll have to wait and see if this more advanced model with the capacitive touch panel lasts longer. I will update my review as time goes on.The reason I bought this after two failed Insinkerator water boilers is that the convenience and luxury factor when it works is incredible. Works like a dream and I have it hotter because of the thermostat precision. Replacing could not have been easier as this unit was designed with all screws and holes exactly the same as the slightly smaller analog unit. Also stainless steel means the tank is more durable. My old tank was fine but the thermostat started giving warm water no matter the setting. Bottom line, veery pleased.

We've used instahots in 3 different kitchens over the last 15 years. They have had to be replaced multiple times, almost once a year in some circumstances. This latest one took only 5 months to start malfuntioning, spewing hot water randomly and then the tank stopped producing hot water all together. If someone else made these hot water dispensers, I would buy it from them.

My wife wanted this in our new kitchen. It proved itself to be invaluable. Hot tea at the turn of a lever. Solid construction. It installed without a problem and instructions were clear and concise.

This is a quality product that works well. BUT, proper installation is critical. Our original installation during a kitchen renovation was not properly conducted. The vent line was not installed correctly resulting in leakage and eventual electrical failure of the product (not purchased from Amazon). The included instructions are not complete and do not address connecting the water tank to the dispenser valve, which is very important. Our purchase from Amazon was to replace the original product. We recommend that a competent professional plumber be engaged to install the tank and your chosen dispenser valve.

Excellent product that I've been usin for years. Great for tea or filling up the coffee press or cleaning cooked on food on pans. I bought a matching InSinkErator F-HC1100MB Indulge Contemporary Hot Cold Water Dispenser faucet to be installed where the soap pump or sprayer hose usually goes.

This thing makes some seriously hot water. Have it turned down to about halfway for teas. Be sure to use with compatible faucet. We have it paired with a Brizo dedicated hot water faucet. This installation isn't hard but easy to mess up.

Purchased from this seller and before long device stopped producing hot water. A complete dud. Not sure if seller is marketing damaged goods. Called Inksinkerator and waiting on replacement. Save yourself the trouble and buy at your local hardware store or direct from the manufacturer.
