Easy to install, strong pump.
Controller setup is a little complicated for your average person. Then again, if you’re purchasing this you’re probably competent enough to know how to figure it out. Very easy installation, and pump works really well. Has a lot of functions to create waves I didn’t know about!

Poor instructions and you will waste plenty of time searching youtube for help.
The pump is compact and kind of quiet. It takes looking up the settings on YouTube to figure out what flow is best for your set-up as a starting point. Less than one week, error 07 (locked motor protection, dry motor protection). Well I know it is not running dry as it is 10" below the water surface. Instructions on how to open it "remove the hook brackets (WHAT? WHERE?) on both sides of pump base.. No image, nothing in the instructions for what these hook brackets are. Furthermore, I cannot take it apart with just my hands. Do I use a screw driver to pry it open? Does it pry open? It doesn't turn. Will something snap or break if I pry it open? The entire pump will shut down and not restart and the instructions to fix are ineffective and incomplete. Do not buy. Do not waste your time. And if I knew this came from China, I definitely would not have bought it.

Awesome pump
I tried the 1600 and the 2600 in my 29g biocube. The 1600 was too weak. I’d say that’s good for 5-20g. But such low profile and silent. The 2600 I have at 40% in the bio cube and when I upgrade some day I can use in a bigger tank at a higher speed. Another advantage to the 2600 is that you can direct it up or down. The 1600 can’t do that. If you want a wave maker that’s low profile for 1/4 the price of ecotech, then give these a try. I’ve only been running it a couple days so I hope it lasts (I see many reviews about them failing so let’s see.) 5 stars for now!

Very hard to clean, which you'll need to do regularly
Great pump, wonderful controller. Very well done on that end. However... you'll need to clean it regularly, because every couple weeks you'll get an error code and the pump will stop working. And if you have the 2600, good luck getting it apart. You have to remove the magnetic base, by grabbing one side of it near the hinge point with a pair of needle nose pliers, and carefully prying it open. Make sure you don't lose the small rubber seats on either side. Then pull those rubber seats off, and the two pieces of the cage separate. That's the easy part. It gets tricky putting it back together, because it is very hard to get the rubber seats to fit properly over the nubs on the cage. And it you are like me, about the 5th or 6th time you go through this process one of the wings on the base will break and you're out a perfectly good wave pump. VERY BAD DESIGN! Which is a shame, because it really is a good pump, and the controller, although a bit confusing at first, gives a very high level of control. I have a love - hate relationship with mine right now. EDIT --------- Ok, I changed my review from 2 stars to 4 stars. I still REALLY think the design is poor, and it is silly to have to remove the base to clean it - every 10-14 days for me. No reason it should require tools to clean an aquarium pump. HOWEVER, when I reached out to Hygger and explained that the base broke when I was reassembling it after cleaning it, they sent me a new one without any issues. Not a new base, an entire wave pump system! The full kit! So that kind of customer service gets top marks from me. Good job Hygger! I'm impressed.

Powerful little pump
I have owned Ecotechs mp40s but didn’t want to spend the money for an mp10 for my new 20 gallon water box cubed. For the price you cannot go wrong. Once I watched how to program on you tube it was super easy to program. I have it on lowest power setting and it will kick up some sand if I don’t point it up a little. My only thing I wish they would have changed is having the frequency to be able to go slower on the settings wave action choices. I am happy with this pump.

ALMOST perfect. Almost.
Because you can only adjust the flow from 40 to 100 percent in increments of 20, you'll most certainly run into a scenario where you either have just a bit too much flow or almost enough flow. If this wavemaker let you adjust the flow in smaller increments, or just 1% at a time, then it would be perfect. Pair this with a lighter AC pump like an aquaclear 20 on the other side of the tank and you'll provide the perfect amount of flow in a 4 foot tank in my opinion, its what i do for my tank. Other than that, its a great little wavemaker, if a bit more expensive than the rest.

Error 7
Set up my tank yesterday and turned it on for the first time. Got to mess with it and put it on the settings I wanted. After about 6 hours I noticed it wasn’t moving no water. Looked at the control and it read error 7. Looked it up and saw it meant the impeller was stuck. Took the wavmaker out and opened it up. Did open up fairly easy. Took out the impeller blew on it and gave it a few turns. Restarted the whole thing. Worked for about an hour and again gave me the error 7. Did the same thing again with the impeller. Restarted it but this time the error 7 wouldn’t go away. Piece of junk. Will be contacting manufacturer.

HYGGER WAVEMAKER IS GOOD QUALITY AND DEPENDABLE
I purchased the 2600 model a year ago and it has been extremely dependable and does a great job! I did have an issue about six months ago and Hygger was quick to replace the head and this corrected the issue immediately. Whenever I can buy a dependable piece of equipment that is backed by the manufacturer when it comes to a needed repair I will without question. In fact, I need another one and I will be ordering one for my second tank.

Barely broke the surface water even when close to the top of the tank.

Great functionality. Not as complex as some other reviews have stated. Would have been 5 stars but this wave maker is wayyy too strong for 32 gallon salt tank. I have tried many positions and angles but this was still too powerful for my tank. I would say that this is better for 40 gal. and up

Once you get your head around the instructions it works great. I bought the 2600gph for my 36-gallon bowfront tank and it's just powerful enough. Wish they had one model higher but this will do for now. May get a second.

Great product for the price. Easy to use and well worth the cost.
