Much better scaling compared to Miniature Secret Garden
Comparing with J.B’s previous miniature book “Secret Garden” it appears that more care has been put into scaling down the illustrations appropriately, with only the odd leaf or petal being difficult to colour at all. The miniature Enchanted Forest feels much more streamlined and do-able in terms of colouring, some of the lines are a bit thicker in places and from first appearances some illustrations seem to have been reworked/cut down rather than just shrunk to size like Secret Garden. Similarly the paper feels of a better quality compared to the previous miniature book. The first photo included is in natural room light and the two other photos are taken using a flash.I’m excited to begin this miniature colouring book, whilst the tiny illustrations are still not for the faint-hearted, they are beautiful, intricate and delicate. I am pleased that feedback from the previous miniature book appears to have been taken onboard.Overall I am so glad I purchased this colouring book and would recommend others who are hesitant to give J.B’s miniature’s a second try.

Perfect miniature of the original.
I preordered this title a while ago but was a little dubious of how it would be due to being slightly disappointed with the Secret Garden miniature. As it turns out, I needn’t have worried as this one is perfect. Images have been thoughtfully remastered to fit the page appropriately as opposed to simply shrinking the original to make it fit as it seems was the case with SG. There doesn’t appear to me so much of a gap in the middle of double pages spreads where the two pages meet either which I was really pleased about. The images are clear and not overly small, making them easy to colour. The paper is of a high standard and only slightly textured with a very fine tooth, just enough to grip colour without leaving white areas where the colour had been unable to sink into the grain. This of course means that pencils lay initial colour down with ease. They layer well and blend beautifully. (I used polychromos in the image pictured. My only small gripe was that a few of the pages were stuck together where they hadn’t quite been cut properly. However, this wasn’t a major issue and nothing that a sharp craft knife couldn’t rectify.Overall, I am really pleased with this book and am looking forward to recolouring some of my absolute favourite along with the two beautiful never before released images.I feel that working in this book will be far more enjoyable that Miniature Secret Garden and I for one appreciate the small but needed delight tweaks.

What a Beautiful Miniature Colouring Book
I’m more than a little in love with this book. I don’t have the full size version. But this is a delight. The paper is beautiful. Good tooth. I’ve used pastels direct to the paper and pencils work a dream. I just keep reaching for it. It feels lovely in the hand too. The pictures have been fitted to the small size pages very well.So far I’m loving Staedtler Ergosoft pencils in it, also Black Widows love the paper. Any pencil that is firm enough to hold a fine point because there is a lot of detail.

A really cute wee book
It is exactly what it says a miniature book. The book is really cute at 6 inches square.Perfect for sticking in your handbag or doing a bit of sneaky colouring at you home workstation. Plus 2 new pictures.
