For people who own this zippo and the regular black crackle zippo which do your prefer? Such as the feel and look, which do you prefer?

I think it feels nicer in the hand over the regular Zippo shape. Just a tad smaller than the current design I think as well. It looks stouter as well. I really like mine.

No, it's tradional zippo style insert but it is a unique size and shape to fit the uniquely sized case c

How do I go about getting this with the pipe lighter inner workings?

The 1941 Repica by default is a cigarette/cigar lighter and does not ship with a pipe lighter insert. If you want the shell, you will have to purchase both the 1941 replica and a standard zippo pipe lighter, and switch out the guts.
