These highest purity alumina rods are designed to withstand the most extreme duty temperatures with little to no thermal expansion. Used frequently to support graphite base plates on furnace rails, the round shape allows the shelves to expand at temperature and roll as the grow instead of sticking and breaking. Use to support pottery pieces, kiln shelves, and as spacers to prevent eutectic reactions to graphite in vacuum furnaces or to prevent work pieces in air from touching each other. These rods are extruded and cut to length. They are designed and manufactured for non-precision, standard applications.
