Nikon D850: Pocket Guide

Basic for what it costs
Firstly this took around 2 months to arrive which seems crazy given the D850 has been out for several years. It is a pocket sized guide and I was surprised that the pages are card. Would have been better being coated paper to be thinner. Under 40 pages which given that 10 relate to suggestions about typical shooting scenarios means that there isn't a whole lot of meat in the book. However what is there covers the basics. For someone buying a camera as sophisticated as the D850 you will need more information to really make it come to life. For the price, I think worth saving for a better more comprehensive book/manual and then creating your own summary on a couple of sheets of paper. Saying that I have put it in the bag for little space and no doubt there will be moments when I refer to it

Great little guide.
This, for me, is a great little go-to guide for the Nikon D850. I find the owner's manual a bit heavy going; this pocket guide tells you all you need to get the D850 up and running. No, it won't tell you how to take gorgeous photos to be exhibited in galleries - that comes with practice, but it will show you how to operate the D850 effectively. As it says on both front and rear covers - Buttons, Dials, Settings, Modes, and Shooting tips. What else do you need? The guide itself is made from very robust material to withstand everyday use. Well worth the money.

Does what it supposed to do ; a field guide for quick reference!
A field guide for pocket but covers as a REMINDER all to know/ to do points in case you are new to D850. Cost effective as well! I recommend it to carry in pocket rather than trying to get mobile Internet connection on top of a hill when you may easily forget an obvious “ know-how!” 😃 I recommend it ! Nice little pocket reminder of key aspects !

Handy book
A little handy guide to jog your memory perhaps but for more info you would need the book . There are that many settings one this camera you just need to pick the ones that suit you at that time and to remember all the settings for different occassions would be a nightmare for the snapper who treats it as a hobby - would buy another type of this book if I needed it - small enough to carry round but obviously because of the size - minimal info at hand .

Way too basic.
Way too basic. It has pages that explain what P, A, S, M meanA page to explain the diff between AF-S and AF-CPages with diagrams that show you where the shutter release is !!!!Anyone buying a D850 already knows this stuff.I was hoping for something that delved down into the more nitty-gritty options.About 80% is generic info for all Nikon DSLRs.About 50% is generic info for all DSLRs.I thought it would be more specific to the D850 ….. the name does imply that.To tray and say something positive, it is a nice, sturdy, well-bound little notebook.
