I needed a small mountable vise for my rc crawler hobby. I cut my own tire rods and such, from bar stock. I was using a soft plastic clamp to hold the tube, but it always came loose. I saw this small vise for about $10 and bought it. It is the perfect size for my needs. It is also very durable. I added some lube to the jaw area and on the threads to make it operate more smoothly. The included plastic pieces allow you to hold various shapes of material. I use mainly round tubes but, it can hold square and oval stock as well. There is also a small vertical cutout, to hold stock in a vertical position. I secured the vise to my workbench with 4 screws. This vise holds all size bar stock that I would ever use in the hobby. Great quality vise at a very reasonable price! This is a nice tool to have.

The clamp strength is strong and has no noticeable slop (the clamp retains its position). It is also heavy enough as not to need to bolt down for PCB work. My only complaint is the high thread count makes the opening and closing rather slow. For the price, I don't feel that it is fair to lower the rating.

Good inexpensive cheap Vice for Home hobbies. Do not use any garage or work environment. Bought it to use on laser engraving items.

Very inexpensive, however, since I only work on watches occasionally, it does the job. It is made of a die cast zinc alloy which surprised me as I was expecting it to be all plastics. The faults are: (1) The threaded holes that hold the jaws were not threaded deep enough for the screws supplied. (2) Th jaw screws are very soft. (3) The threaded portion of the vise slide to the clamp screw is very loose. (4) The slide itself is not very well fitted to the vise body and moves around a lot. I will correct those items in time. If you want better pay more and get one. If you are just wanting something to work for a short period of time, purchase this.

Just what I was looking for, the grooves in the soft jaws are very versatile.

for the price, it's worth it... just understand what you get for this price. What do I mean? It's inexpensive. It's light weight. It's not exactly precise. The screw is a little rough, although I have not tried a dab of grease on it. I just want this for the little stuff, a 3rd hand. I have a few different cheapo 3rd hands. I have some really nice panavise stuff to, different league. I have some massive $400 vises... This is another item that is nice enough for a cheapo 3rd and 4th hand. I'm gonna buy another one, once set up with the long shoes, and other with the round ones.

We purchased this vice to hold small jewelry pieces to be drilled with holes. They must be drilled underwater, and we have had success with this application/use! We just dry it out well after each use so it doesn’t rust, etc. It holds odd-shaped items tight with the included notched plastic attachment, and works exactly as described. Seems fairly durable, and hope to have this simple tool (that we paid a very low price for), helping us out and making life easier for many years to come! Well worth the price we paid for it, to not have to hold something during drilling! Anything to remove fingers from a potentially unfortunate situation lol. Highly Recommend this little vice clamp!
