I used it for cutting openings in the aluminum face plate of some electronic equipment I was building and was surprised at the ease of use. A close inspection of the device shows it is well built. I particularly like that I don't have to make full width cuts but can "shave" an edge to widen an opening slightly. I'm quite pleased with the purchase.

This is a very solid and well-made tool, which is ideal for making straight or gently curving cuts in sheet metal. Nibblers are slow, but have the great advantage that the metal does not become bent or distorted as when using aviation shears. I used it to cut 20 gauge mild steel, which required only moderate effort since the handles are long enough to provide good leverage. It should be possible to cut slightly thicker materials, particularly for softer metals. Gloves should be worn when using the tool to avoid pinching between the handles. I previously have used an Adel nibbler, which unfortunately seems no longer available. This has a cutter design which allows cutting a slot, rotating the tool 90 degrees in the slot, and cutting an inside square corner, something not possible with this tool. Cutting 20 gauge steel, however, requires considerable hand strength and the tool is awkward to use.

Great nibbler. Like other reviews say, wear gloves or it'll bite ya! Cuts nice straight lines.
