Several reviewers say "made in china". description says made in japan. one answer says made in france. where is this made??

My Philips light touch 6 says "made in Japan" & my light touch 1 says "made in France". I think the light touch 1 requires special manufacturing techniques due to the firm padded head & I believe that's why it's made in France.

Are the bristles firm or more on the soft side? Looking for a good, firm bristled brush to massage my scalp while brushing my hair. Any suggestions?

The bristles are soft but not so soft that they don't massage the scalp. Double bristles emerge from each hole, each with a tiny bead on the tip too prevent hair damage. My opinion, I think it's a wonderfully massaging brush. My hair is long, not very thick but fine. I love this brush. It and Light Touch 1 are the only brushes I've used for 10+ years.
