Useless!
Useless as it doesn’t do it’s job! Clips on fine cuts fine but the last couple of turns it doesn’t move therefore have to back track and twist the lid of the tin leaving nasty sharp barb! I’ve returned and surprised at the quality from usually good products. 🙁

So hard to use. Hurts my hand
I’m left handed and sometimes find can openers difficult. But this one has to be THE most difficult to use one ever. The handle is too shallow to get a good grip on. And if the product you’re trying to open has oil or brine etc in it and a little gets on your hands you’re done for. It’s incredibly difficult to even get it to pierce the can to start it off. And I’ve twisted my hand trying to get it to work. It takes ages to get around the can and doesn’t even seem to fully complete the circle by about 2 cms!So disappointed, especially for such a reputable brand. Seems like such a great idea but the design is badly flawed.

Small, Neat and Awesome !
I have to admit to being a fan of Joseph Joseph products - having had surgery on my hand for arthritis I now find I cannot use a conventional tin opener which is why I purchased one of these. It takes one hand to operate clips easily onto tins and all you do is turn the handle till the lid Is removed and then press the button to release the lid. There are no sharp edges as it cuts from underneath the rim of the lid rather than inside the rim.I would recommend this product - particularly if like me you have difficulty gripping as you do with a conventional tin opener. This is almost a perfect product but if there is one thing I would improve on it’s the height of the turning handle would benefit from being a little taller.

Dangerous
Positively dangerous. It gave me a nasty and deep cut on my finger from the tin I was trying to open the first time I used it. A triumph of design over practicality.

Works but definitely not easy
This device does work and the design definitely solves a problem with shallow cans which are frequently more difficult to open with traditional can openers because the turning handle on them continually bangs into the surface on which you're opening the can. Because this sits on top of the can, that doesn't happen with this. However, it does have issues.First off, what is not mentioned anywhere in the instructions, is that in order to use the device, you need to ensure that the release button is pushed in so that there's a gap between the holding/cutting teeth, otherwise you can't clamp the device onto the edge of the can to cut into it. That SHOULD be obvious from looking at the device but really, it just isn't and I think half the negative reviews on here are simply people (like myself) who hasn't worked that out.Secondly, when you do get the device clamped in place, you really need to exert inward pressure on the cutting blade to sever the top of the can. In my case, I pressed the can tightly up against the kitchen wall at the back of the counter in which I was opening it and then 'walked' the can along the wall with each turn of the device's handle, adjusting its position every few seconds as necessary. So, this device DOES work and this device DOES solve a problem but it's not as easy as the manufacturers make out.
