Excellent tie-out stake!
The conventional "screw-type" of tie-out stakes are utterly worthless, even if you buy high-dollar ones. I have medium-sized dogs and a 15-lb. puppy. The 15-lb. puppy pulls the much pricier conventional ones right out of the ground, just working it from the side. In a few days or less, he is free (I have clay soil, mind you). Tragedy can result. I have learned the hard way that this type of Boss Pet stake is the only way to go. It was a good price and shipping was QUICK. I cannot, however, respond as to durability. The "weakest link" in all these things (apart from the underground stake) is the part you attach the tether to. But it looks sturdy.

Boss Pet Tie Out Stake with 7/16 " Diameter x 16 " Long Anchor Post
This ball bearing top Boss Pet tie out stake is working well in our backyard as an anchor point for our Lab and Golden. Our dogs are pretty hyper, especially the Lab, so they tug and yank on their leads quite a bit while wrestling with each other or otherwise horsing around. Once driven in with a hammer, the stake is secure and sits flush with the ground. The steel anchor post is 16-inches long with a welded one-piece stabilizer fin about three-quarters of the way down and appears to be either chrome or zinc plated. It has a rotating ball bearing dome top that turns with the dogs leads when they roam around and move from one end of the yard to the other. The bearing top kind of looks like an old style steel roller skate wheel with a metal loop welded on that is large enough for both of the snap hooks on our two dogs coated wire rope leads to connect to. It seems to be helping to keep the leads from tangling and getting snarled up as fast as they normally would with the stationary anchor stakes that we always used before. The bearing itself was practically bone dry of lubricant when it arrived, so I used a can of Gunk white grease spray with a plastic nozzle to shoot some lube into it before putting the stake in the ground. So far anyway, this stake seems to be holding up to the task at hand.

Best tie out stake.
This was exactly what I was looking for. My dogs lead does not get tanggled around it and I don't have to remove it when I cut the grass.
