If you are serious about double unders I strongly recommend this rope. Fast and also provide a good feedback to you dur the heavy cable. Be careful about cable length, for me 9" is just perfect be aware that you can't short the cable but instead you can replace it be another one shorter or lighter as you come mor proficient in your double unders.

I invested in my RX rope because I got tired of fumbling through ropes at the boxing gym, trying to find the right length and weight each time. I've used the rope (beginner weight, FYI) for about a year and a half now, and love how it feels. It allows for cross-arms and doubles with dependable swing. HOWEVER, it didn't take long (app. fifty workouts) before jumping rope in the parking lot wore through the cable cover and even began to part the cable strands themselves. The original cable is still usable but now dangerous for bare hands -- those broken steel strands will cut you in an instant. So I recommend jumping on rubberized mats, flat cardboard, or something else that will protect your rope and your investment. And if your rope does wear out, replacement cables are relatively inexpensive (about $16).

This is THE rope if you want to do double unders. If you’re a pro, you can probably go for one of those speed ropes. But if you’re a beginner or medium, the weight on this rope will help tour timing. You can order lighter or heavier ropes from their website for $16. Not cheap, but not outrageous. Ropes will damage quickly depending on the surface you use on. Jumping on concrete will considerably shorten the life of the rope, but like I mentioned above, replacing it isn’t that bad

Okay, so let's talk about any jump rope over $30, because this is important to say out loud. If you're looking into this rope, this is arguably the best & most reasonably priced quality rope you're going to find. I'll explain why: the bearing/grip set up is a mixture of both a speed rope, and a boxing jump rope. This means you'll be able to both speed jump, and do tricks like double-unders, crossing arms & the like! If you search though the options & observe both price points & handle/bearing design, you'll find most ropes are just speed ropes, which are designed only to rotate quickly. Useful, but everything else becomes very difficult when you're only able to rotate forward/backward. Other jumpropes on-par with this one seem to double in price. This is a solid build with strong handles, solid metal bearings, and a well-coated twisted wire rope. Not overly branded, comes with a travel bag as well! This was a thought-out package & it shows! $50 well spent.
