Plug and Play
I have an older 1997 Carver 260SE and the old Bennet system was leaking bad. I thought that I can fix it, but every season it got worse. I finally broke down and, originally was going to use Lenco conversion. That was considerably more money. I got the HYDBOLTCON last Friday and literally had it installed on just a few hours. Spent more time cleaning the mess from the old system. My wife and I are optimistic about plug and play stuff, but this worked out perfectly. I did not use the purple wire to have the tabs retract when the ignition is off, but it was a nice option. The main controller mounting lined up perfectly with the old holes from the hydraulic system. For us we did not have to drill a single hole. You will need to download the instruction, or use your phone. My 10 year old could have installed this. Great job Bennet! Thank you

High Quality. These are perfect. They work perfect, Super easy to install!
Super easy to install. i deleted my old controller all together. made more room in my bilge area. its CLEAN no more oil mess to deal with. this is the only way to go. I have been boating for 30 years and thirty years of my former Bennett hydraulic units. love Bennett products just couldn't deal with the oil mess any longer.

Wrong parts
I have been going back and forth with Bennett for over a year and a half. Bad controller, bad actuator, on forth switch. I have told them from the first failure they sent parts from two different systems, they kept insisting no. Keep in mind I am a master electrician and understand circuitry. Finally. in March the head tech acknowledged that I had incorrect parts and the system was frying parts. They emailed they would be sending me a new system, the correct system and parts. Almost July and no parts, stopped answering emails, another frustrating boating season where I keep spending money hot wiring the tabs until they burn up. Completely unprofessional. I had to send them my history of emails along with history of parts they replaced that I had to remove, return, re install. I am totally fed up! Now with the COVID they don't even answer the phone but give and email address to send a message to....They do not respond! I went with Bennett over Lenco on reputation. Big mistake!

This is Not A Direct Replacement
This is not a direct replacement for the hydraulic trim tabs. They are much longer than the original hydraulic trim tabs.

Good kit but errors in instructions
I bought this kit to upgrade another company's automatic trim tabs on my boat to powered tabs. It worked well. I had to drill new holes in the old stainless steel 11x9 tabs. Instead of following the directions to route the cable through the transom in the middle of the upper mount, I chose to run the cable higher on the transom to keep it above the waterline. I used a hull pass-through fitting for those. I also bought a Bennett BRC4000 switch assembly for the dash. Since I was not converting from an existing system, I cut off the 4-pin connector on the module cable and spliced the wires to a 4-wire extension cable to go to the switch. The switch had to be modified by removing all jumpers and wires and starting over with new jumpers and the wires from the extension cable. See the attached sketch. The module works this way, each of the 4 inputs (port, starboard,up, down) are activated when 12vdc is applied to each one from the switch. A minimum of two inputs must be activated for any operation to occur, one for the side (port or starboard) and one for the direction (up or down). Both port and starboard can be active at the same time (port, starboard, and up for example) by putting 12v to 3 of the 4 inputs. There are two errors in the installation manual. One has you populating only 2 of the 3 mounting holes on the upper actuator mount, even though there are 3 screws supplied. The other error is that the instructions state that the power LED at the bottom of the module will be lit whenever there is power applied to the module. That is not true; the LED is on only when the actuators are being driven up or down. The self retraction feature works well except that it overdrives the motors far longer than necessary. This kit is actually less expensive than buying just the two actuators by themselves, so if you need the actuators, buy this kit. The self retracting relay module would normally cost another $50 at least. So this is a bargain compared to the prices of the individual parts.

Replaced the old hydraulic system perfectly.
Just had to run the ignition wire and I was good to go. And purchase a new switch.
