These are the best. I purchased an Icy Cools neck band with 2 Therma Freeze inserts a few years ago. They stay frozen for about an hour in 90 plus degree Tennessee summer heat. I used them so much I damaged one. I could not find refills like these so I purchased liquid filled inserts. They only stay frozen about half an hour. I was so pleased to find the original Therma Freeze inserts this summer. I ordered 2 packs. I no longer use the original neck band. It can be a little difficult to get the inserts in and out. The neck band was also a little bulky. I now use the frozen inserts in a bandana. Easier to exchange inserts and lightweight.

Very misleading advertising and labor intensive to fill correctly. Thought I was buying gel inserts that comes in Icy Cools. Very difficult to get right size cubes when letting them expand even with a tiny amount of water. Some cubes overfilled immediately and some hardly filled at all and I had to massage the flat ones to get water inside. You can’t change the “gel swell” once you add water so you will be stuck with size and inability to slide it into neck wrap easily unless you cut out the huge cubes. I haven’t even used them yet but am really irritated I bought them.

I thought I was buying 5 gel filled inserts, not 5 cell based papers, that I would need to soak in water (but not too much because you run the risk of the cells filling up too much), wiping them down, then freezing them.They do freeze nicely and to a nice temp that lasts long. However, if you messed up on that first long important stage, you can end up with inserts that aren't straight but are curved, and won't fit easily into the Ice Wraptor (which ships with a gel based cold pak, same exact size as these), and definitely will cause you pain (when you likely don't need anymore pain!) shoving it into the Ice Bandana.Maybe this was all in the writeup, but I was needing to shop fast, and that picture doesn't really help you out. But if I need to buy more inserts, I certainly will consider these again. The process wasn't traumatic or anything :) Just do NOT wait until the last minute, ie close to a surgery etc, to order these. Understand the prep time needed so they are all frozen, the devices you will be inserting them are "broken in" and you won't have any of the issues I mentioned! I got through everything, I have 5 inserts to put into the two products I bought (in addition to the gel insert that shipped with the Ice Wraptor) and now I can keep ice on my head and neck comfortably. A bit more of a pain to start out than expected, but now, I'm set!

I bought this Ice inserts for the ice bandana that I have by Icy cools. Well first this product came as shown in the pictures, just like that but inside of each cell, it is like a powder inside of them so what you do is you soak the inserts until comes into the size and that's it, after that you place them into the freezer and that will become ice. Everything fine until here, the problem is now that the powder on the inserts "inflates" so much that the cells become like rounded balls, so when you freeze them and put into the ice bandana and then into your body, in my case I use to calm my headaches or migraines so when I wrap the ice bandana around my forehead the inserts don't make too much contact with my forehead or the rest of my skin, so in that case, this will not cool you off at all and neither will last long. I prefer the ice bandana replacements Ice inserts by Ice cools. They are a little bit more expensive than these ones and it comes only 2 replacements but for the shape and how they are built I guarantee they will do their job just perfect, they will cool you off just excellently. I will try these inserts wrapping around my neck in hotter days and see if they will give me the same effects or cool me off enough, but for my migraines this don't work.

I bought this item as part of a “frequently bought together” deal with the Icy Cools Bandanna. Since they were “frequently bought together” I figured it was just extra Icy Cools snake inserts. They are NOT. Plus, it’s NOT RETURNABLE. From the reviews, this mistake is a common one. A pox on scammy vendors who can’t sell their products any other way!
