Nice upgrade...
Was hesitant going to a larger coil. Wondered if a larger coil meant faster battery drain. My Minelab stock coil worked great, had no issues at all and was easy to maneuver. But detecting at the beach you need something bigger, there's a lot of area to cover. Took a few outings to get used to it but it works pretty good. I'm not sure I'd use it in tight places like in the woods, but I'd give that a try also.

It's not as easy to use as the smaller EQX coils, but after a a couple of days use.... I love it.
Just like many other products... the 15" EQX coil's effectiveness and value wasn't immediately obvious, afterall, I had been using the EQX 6" coil mostly and comparatively, the smaller coil is much easier to use. That said, if you detect large fields, or areas that have few to moderate amounts of targets the 15" EQX coil is a great asset. It has much greater coverage area because of its size and is still very sensitive to very small, good targets. I bought my 15" EQX coil through Amazon Warehouse in "like new" condition, must have been a return, and haven't regretted it one bit, just the opposite as a matter of fact. The one piece of advice I'd like to give, is to hunt by sound, once the coil sounds positively in both left and right swings... keep swinging side to side over the target as you walk the coil back towards yourself till the good sounding tone stops and then the target will be at the very tip of your coil. You can also pinpoint in both directions and dig at the intersection, but the previous method is effective and quicker. My depth of detection and area covered has been greatly increased. Just like anything else, if you are willing to put the time into learning the intricacies of the large coil verses the small coil, you can handle swinging the added weight, and you don't mind digging deeper plugs then you really need to consider adding the 15" x 12" EQX coil to your Minelab Equinox tools... maybe a bigger shovel too... My Lesche Sampson (shovel) sometimes leaves me wanting more.

Exceeded Expectations
First time out with the 15 inch coil and I couldn't be happier. I pulled coins from a place I've gone over with my 11 inch coil already and from my experience the 15 inch coil definitely gives you that extra depth and coverage the 11 inch coil can't give you. Like the title says, the 15 inch coil exceeded my expectations out in the field. 👍 The weight of the larger coil is negligible. Only drawback I could find is it's trickier using the pinpoint function with the larger coil, but I'll work on that with time.
