This is a high quality three prong to two prong outlet adapter with a grounding lug. In my case I have an older home with BX electrical cables and metal outlet boxes so I took the outlet face-plate off by unscrewing the one brass screw leaving the face-plate on the outlet. I positioned the lug on the adapter so that it makes contact with the face-plate screw and tightened the screw. That's all there was to it. Works great and I'm sure it will last a very long time. I would purchase this adapter again.

I recently bought a house (that is a little older) with a LOT of 2 prong outlets....went on the search for a converter. These fit the bill - they (so far) are working great. I'm not sure if they come in other colors, but would prefer white over the gray I bought, so they would be less visible and blend in with the wall outlets, however. Regardless of the color, they are working wonderfully to-date and are much less expensive than an electrician to change out the outlets!

Tried to use this for an extension cord, the prongs only go in about halfway. Seems like a fire hazard so I'm not using them

I needed this to connect a timer to an extension cord for the Christmas lights. I am so glad that there these adapters that will allow me to connect a timer to the lights, otherwise it would have been a pain to manually turn on and off the Christmas lights. Adapters are sturdy and work well. No complaints! Thanks!
