MOTA Alphabet ABC Mat – EVA Foam - Anti-Slip Foam Jigsaw Puzzle Floor Play Mat – 26 Tiles

I purchased these for my grandson, thinking we would put them on the floor in the basement or his room. They were not the best on the floor. They buckled and warped as he walked on them, and they came apart too easily... ... Then something wonderful happened. We took the letters out and placed the squares out on the floor. My 24 month old grandson spent three days constantly going back to put the letters into each block. Then we switched it up a bit and put the letters out on the floor and I would hold up a square. He would search to find the letter that fit into the square. Then a few days later he was putting letters and empty squares out in the middle of the floor. He would then find the letters and the proper square himself and put them together. Each time he would match them up, he would put them on a shelf. Each time he would pick up a letter or a square, we had to say the letter out loud. After a week he eas able to identify the letter by sound and match them up himself. I am so totally amazed by using this as a teaching tool. I have a 24 month old who has learned more from these squares than he has by my reading to him. They are wonderful!

Exactly what I had in mind when I ordered this product. If you've seen a rubber-ish alphabet mat, this is probably similar to what you have in mind, too. Not super-thick, but it is the thickness I expected and when our beloved 7 month-old totters over when leaning forward to grab a toy and lands face-ish (we usually buffer the fall), he is entirely fine and does not even notice. There was no weird smell to the product as some other reviewers noted; maybe we are less sensitive, but I don't think so b/c several friends and our part-time nanny have all been around the mat and not noticed a smell. I'm not sure why the box says 2 years + b/c the mat is perfectly fine for an infant -- no choking hazards or other scary bits. Bottom line: Very happy!

The pieces warp and come apart really easily. We have to treat it as though it's a little fragile, which is not what you want in a floor mat for a toddler. I don't know if other company's letters come out and warp or bend so easily so I don't know if this is a fixable problem.Only letters, no numbers. I'm sure that's on the description and I just didn't read it closely enough... Also I really like to be organized and it drives me nuts that this isn't square when you put it together. I know these things don't bother most people, but for the people that care about stuff like that, I thought I should mention it.

These are a perfect size and so cute and colorful, my toddler absolutely loves it. The quality seems great.

We love our MOTA mat! It is extemely durable and I wash ours in the bathtub when needed. It dries quickly and looks fantastic.

Perfect play mat for our toddler. These are good quality. They go together easily and stay together. They are easy to clean and maintain.

This mat has worked well as a play area for our son. We have hardwood floors in our house, so it helped protect him when he was learning to sit and to crawl. Now that he's crawling he doesn't stay on the mat much, but we keep all of his toys on it. I gave it 4 stars because he learned how to pull the squares and the letters off of the mat, so he pulls it apart all the time. That might be expected with any of these mats. Time to tape it!

I wanted something for our little crawler that would be softer than our hardwood floors. First, I found this mat to be a little on the thin side. Second, it did not come with finishing edges (so it looks sloppy). Third, the letters pop out too easily so trying to move the mat around is frustrating to say the least. And finally, because the letters pop out so easily, it's not that easy to clean either. I would not recommend this product and definitely would not purchase again.

very nice play-mat with alphabet for kids. Good to play letter games, fun to assemble, like a floor puzzle. comfortable for crawling by an infant.
