Great Draft Stopper!!!
I live in an old, drafty house that needs a lot of repairs. The doors don't fit the frames correctly. Every fall/winter, I have to put weather stripping to stop drafts from coming in. But the weather stripping never fits properly and would usually break in pieces and make the doors hard to open and close. So when I was looking to buy my annual stock of weather stripping, Amazon recommended silicone draft seals. I researched and settled on Alien Draft Seal because of the price and you get 49 feet of the seal. Most other companies sell less footage for around the same price. The directions were simple. It was easy to hang up even though I have hand tremors. It really helps to stop the drafts from coming in. My rooms feel warmer. It was enough to seal 2 doors with some leftover. Unfortunately 1 box is not enough for my needs. So I have to get another box because I have 2 more doors to seal. But I will happily get more because Alien Draft Seal works!!! I may even try it on my old drafty windows.

You need to get this!
I have been using ALIEN DRAFT SEAL for a few years now. And I can tell you it is by far the best THING and easiest way to seal doors and windows inside and outside. Our new puppy has scratched some of it off of the back door inside so I need to replace that part. But I have it on the outside of the door and it has not come off at all through wind, snow, ice, or rain it Absolutely does what it is designed to do. I used this at my MOMS 175 year old home and she is so thrilled that it still is doing its job. The Quality of this product is first class easy to use measure cut peel and press no mess one and done. Year after year. I can’t recommend this enough to you. But trust me you will not be disappointed!!

Looks good, works well, good value
Application is very easy. It's sticky enough to be secure but also easy to take off and readjust which I appreciate it. I was particularly concerned that it would stand out a lot and look ugly on my door (it's a solid white) but it actually doesn't look bad. That's a pleasant surprise. I am concerned that it's just a bit flimsier/thinner on the end that is meant to stop air flow than it should be for my liking. It was very windy (and cold) as I was setting it up, and I definitely still felt air coming through which I'm guessing is because it was strong enough to push past, so the seal isn't perfect. However, if it was too thick, it would be less flexible and less visually appealing so it all depends on what's more important to you. It's still noticeably and much better than it was before so I'm happy. It's good enough so far, but if anything changes or it comes undone, I'll update my review. Otherwise assume it hasn't!Definitely worth the money.

Very easy to install. Keeps out drafts.
Going to be buying more. Easy to install. Sticks and stays stuck. The clear color does not make it stand out. An inexpensive way to stop drafts on any entryway. The flexibility of the rubber material is beneficial for recessed door ways.

almost great
bought this product to seal up around aluminum screen doors on my patio enclosure. The product comes well packaged and is easy to install. it also sticks very well to the aluminum. Unfortunately, because the silicone is so soft and pliable, that when you open the door, the part that covers the opening on the hinge side goes into the jamb and i have to manually pull it back out to so it will cover the opening again. wind will also blow the part over the door gap but, so far, it has not come off. If it was a little less pliable it would be perfect.

Solved a real problem with our Front Door
All of these types of products are flawed. I went with this one because it had the overall best ratings, and in reviewing the 1-star ratings - it all boils down to adhesion issues, which could be related to various things. This product's flexibility is oddly exceptional. If your seal isn't flexible enough, it won't work. This is like a perfect balance, and it appears (so far) to remain flexible. We haven't had the full 'cold' season yet, so I'll update this review. I'm 24 hrs into the installation, and it normalized the temperatures in my apartment. It doesn't adhere so well that it would strip off paint. (one of the catch-22s).I cleaned the surface around my metal door with alcohol (70%) as surface prep. If I owned this property, I would have primed the edge with a 'bonding primer', which would solve most of the adhesion issues I read about. Diana, my partner, talked me out of doing that. (laugh) The gaps in my door are ridiculous, and the managers didn't follow through with replacing/fixing the door in the spring, even after a reminder. It's 2023, and our world is what it is.It mounted easily and I think it will hold just fine. I decided to use blue-painter's tape (the Dollar Store variety), to add additional support/adhesion. I think that will work fine for the winter, and easily removable when we leave this apartment complex. It is aesthetically weird, but this is about function for us. The tape itself is clear and almost invisible, so I think it would work fine without the added reinforcement, and if the adhesion were to become a problem, the quality of the material reflects I'd be able to use another level of adhesion. I suspect this seal would provide years of service. If I had a wood door, or other type of material, looking at using some kind of primer that is appropriate for adhesion would be a consideration. Then again, if you have an expensive door, there should be a weather striping mechanism that makes this solution not needed.Regardless, I wish I would have thought of (or found this) years ago. I am very pleased with it, and I am certain it will serve the purpose. It has already proved itself in the first 24 hours.I would not have anticipated the level of impact it had on normalizing the temperatures/comfort in our living space. Not having this has probably cost us hundreds of dollars of heat/cooling expenses, not to mention the discomfort of dealing with a poorly sealed door situation.Highly recommend this brand, I would buy it again (it is on my list). The package comes with more than enough for two standard types of doors. I only have one door, so, I'll be ready for the future!!
