Maglite Resurrection!
Great retrofit for my old maglites. I held off on writing a review until I had some time to test it out. Works great, has a great beam, and is really bright. Very easy to install and I would absolutely recommend this for anyone who wants to upgrade their maglite. I bought a second one as I use one 4 D-Cell to walk the dog and keep a 4 D-Cell in my truck. The old incandescent light bulbs and small replacement LED bulbs are useless. The quality is very good and it's worth the money, its not cheap but quality never is. I use it every morning and every night when I walk the dog to protect myself from Chupacabras, Zombies, and Skunk Apes (I live in Florida). You do lose the ability to focus the beam, but I dont miss it. Brightness setting all work great and it automatically turns on the same brightness setting you turned it off. Buy one...or maybe 2!

Upgraded a 20+ year old, 2 D-cell Maglite
Ah, kids these days don't know the pain of the old-school Maglites. The sometimes wobbly beam and the way you would have to occasionally rap the butt-end of the flashlight to get it to switch on. And the bruise left by this incredibly heavy, dense, unyielding piece of aircraft metal if you misjudged how hard you tapped it against your knee (or if you were exceptionally drunk, against your forehead in a perverse and ultimately self-defeating demonstration of machismo). Well, the flashlight is still incredibly heavy but there is less need to rap the end of the flashlight with this LED conversion installed. As an older model flashlight, it was necessary to remove the extra spacer. And one is well served to follow the directions and completely remove the head to install this kit rather than simply remove the lens. I should have just read the manual rather than curse needlessly at the kit. You do lose the signature Maglite focusing that allows you to twist the head to adjust the beam angle. On the other hand, you gain the ability to choose 3 different intensity levels. Even the low setting seems almost as (or perhaps just as) bright as the original incandescent bulb. Overall, this is a good kit that has brought new life to my old Maglite and given it performance that rivals some of my newer, fancier, rechargeable flashlights. The instruction sheet is straightforward; I should have read it through from the start. It would have only taken a few minutes and saved me the several additional minutes I wasted complaining (erronenously) that it didn't install or work correctly. The instructions only tell you what you need to know and do not proselytize on any other topic other than the proper installation and use of the LED conversion kit. Thanks, Lumencraft! I'm going to search around the house to see if there are any other old Maglites in need of a refresh!

MagLite
Great way to upgrade an older light. Much brighter than the older incandescent bulb.

Amazing
Works GREAT in 80's and 90's Maglites. Good price for the features you get. Easy to install. It DOES drain D Cell batters faster, but having decent rechargeable batteries is a must in this day and age. Easy to cycle between brightness settings just by clicking the button a few times. The only downside I can see is the loss of the Focus capability that Maglites were known for. I plan on getting a few more of these for all the Maglites in my collection.

Great Upgrade to Revive Old Mag-Lites
I got three of these to breathe new life into Mag-Lites that I had. They installed easily and work great. They are more expensive than some alternatives but they are well built and replace the existing reflector and bulb housing. These LEDs work at low, medium, and bright levels that cycle with each on/off button push. They provide that a half button push can also be used to cycle through the brightness levels so you don't have to click all the way each time.

AN EASY UPDATE WITH GREAT OUTPUT
PRO - Single all-in-one unit combines a powerful emitter with a new (metal not plastic) reflector. Quickly updates older non-LED MAGLITES. Installed easily, good instructions, good build quality. Big improvement in total light output vs. a cheap LED bulb. New beam has a good throw and balanced color that’s not too blue. After this upgrade, you get choice of power levels. Very fast shipment. CON - Very, very minor. After upgrade unit installed, beam focus is fixed.

Quit working after thirty seconds
So looking forward to getting this for my old 6d battery maglite. Got it put it in turned it on and worked for 30 seconds then quit. I changed batteries and nothing. Took back apart and nothing does not work. Contacted Amazon and they sent a label to me right then. Then Lumencraft Contacted me and sent me a new one. They even apologized to me for their delay getting to me. I received me new one and WOW is a understatement. My 6d maglite is 37 years old and it has new life, Super bright. I highly recommend the Led and Lumencraft fully. I will order again.

Not brighter, doesn't fit properly
I really wanted to like this. I figured id give it a try, even after reading other reviews that said it was barely brighter than other drop in led bulbs, as long as the beam spread was better. It wasn't. Using it on an older(20+ year?, it was my dad's) mac tools branded 4 D cell maglite. The beam spread is the same as if you focused your regular bulb and diffuser all the way in and out a hair, making the brightest bead in the middle. It can't be adjusted otherwise. But that's not the biggest issue. Even with the ring removed for the "older" models, it doesn't seat properly. Can't screw lens cap down fully, and when screwing the entire head back on, if you screw it down far enough to actually contact the o-ring and seal, it immediately popped my button off . Come to find out, it shifted my entire assembly inside downward towards the batteries. After removing this ill fitting bulb assembly, I had to use a flat head screw driver to pry up on the button assembly to position it back in place to reinstall my rubber button. I don't like dealing with returns like this, had this not been completely unusable and not fitting , I would probably have kept it anyways as I have other mag lights I could have used the parts for, and just forgotten about the fact that this isn't any brighter than the 350 lumen single bulb drop in several competitors offer, for 1/4 of the price. But it just does not physically fit correctly to the point is hampers use and proper assembly.
