just what i needed.
I needed a new gas cap for my 2005 Tahoe Z71 because it tripped the check engine light. The cap was a perfect fit and solved my problem.

Save your money!
Old fuel cap was fine except for broken lanyard. Ordered this cap because of price and availability.Changed to this new cap and check engine light came on within an hour. It felt like there was not enough resistance before the "clicks" started. Cap would not tighten enough. Cleared CEL code and installed old cap. CEL did not come back on during commute. Don't buy. Poor quality, or at minimum, poor quality control!

Great fit and easy to install .make sure to reattached the strap from gas cap to inside your gas compartment door .it on there so you don.t forget it.

Buy the original if you want your check engine light to turn off. With this cap my monitor says tighten fuel cap all the time. Should have bought it from gm
