Wow ! Very intense!
This book started off sad and I kept hoping for a different ending but as the book wore to a close - a minor character fell to the Crows. The last three books have been about a bitter rivalry between the Crows and Pirra/Hylas. As we come to the end of this series it is my desire to see Issi in great detail in the final book. While I have immensely enjoyed the four books, I feel like Pirra when I hear Hylas speak of his sister and have no words. This series has been hard to get through at times because it has elements that are missing or haven’t been explained enough. Here’s hoping the last book satisfies...

The Lion, The Falcon and the Boat Made of Grass
The story moves forward through the eyes of four storytellers. Their adventures seem a little too perfect; the boy too polite, the lion too fearful, the falcon too faithful.

... book that I have read and it is the best so far
This is the 10th Paver book that I have read and it is the best so far. Although this story is aimed at young adults it is still a good read for adults as well. The storyline keeps the reader hooked and the world that Paver creates is both rich in historical accuracy and stunning in detailed descriptions of ancient Egyptian objects and way of life. The amount of research that the author has put into this book, the fourth outing for Hylas and Pirra, is simply stunning. Set in ancient Egypt some 3,500 years ago Paver takes us into the world of Hylas and Pirra, where bronze is king and the ancient gods of Mycenae, the Minoans and the New Kingdom are worshipped. The books quest is to find a dagger which is said to wield enormous power but to me the real interest was in the relationship between Hylas, Pirra, Havoc and Echo. With good, interesting and believable characters a book comes alive and this was my experience. Well done Ms Paver. I am a fan.

Yet Another Great Addition to the "Gods and Warriors" Series
I already adore Michelle Paver's books, and have really enjoyed this series so far. It is about a period of history I know little about, so is really educational, on top of the exciting story-lines. The move of the location to Egypt was really interesting, and as always, I loved the inclusion of the animals' thoughts. I await the final (sadly!) book with great anticipation, and hope she is planning a new theme soon!

Satisfied customer
Item received in good time and excellent condition. Read with pleasure. Enjoyed her Chronicles of Ancient Darkness series the most, but this is a close second. Enjoyed by adults and children / teens in our family. Also enjoy her adult ghost stories. An excellent writer. Recommend seller and author.

Must read: The Crocodile Tomb (Gods and Warriors Book 4)
I bought this book a while back and I'm bursting for the next book, 'Bronze Warrior' I think, which comes out sometime in August. This book is about how Pirra and Hylas travel to Egypt to try and find Userref, who believes Pirra to be dead, and set off to his home country to destroy the Knife of Koronos. But as you can imagine, it couldn't have been as easy as that... I'd recommend this book to all adventure loving readers of a young or old age and other books and series by Michelle Paver such as The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness. Fabulous book, don't stop writing Michelle!!!! 😆😁
