Secrets of Mental Math

My hubby is an engineer and math is "his" thing! I misplaced the first one and couldn't find it so of course he had to order another one! Then, after we get it...we find the first disc. But he says it teaches you how to understand math and gives you an easier way of breaking down problems quicker. He is also a mentor to a 7 year old and gave the original disc to him to help him with doing his math work. So it's simple enough for children to use. I'll use it when my son gets older and may try it for myself but my 'math' days are over so I'll take my husband word for how good it is.

I received the DVD and the little book promptly, new and still in it's new package. It is very helpful the different sessions for the different kind of math you would like to go into. And the little book is very useful because it has a lot of Math exercises that you can do and see if it is done right or not. Good choice to make to learn more about Math. I did received the package right away. I'm happy with their service.

Boring. I want to like but watched a portion and fell asleep and set it aside.

Animated Prof Arthur Benjamin clearly loves Mathematics and people -- the surefire mix for being a good teacher. Though Speed Math is a keen interest, his main field is in another sector of Mathematics.People who go thru this DVD fully will learn many ways to save time in calculating and should gain better understanding of Math.Prof Benjamin makes his subject interesting and clear.

I find that this course enhances my self-esteem. I've decided to improve my math skills because doing math mentally has always fascinated me and I wanted to be more adapt at doing rapid calculations without the aid of pencil and paper--or a calculator. This course is working. Thank you Professor Arthur T. Benjamin, your presentation skills are great.

I hope I get to use this course. I am too limited and unable to really use it right now. It is a great course that can really help you in the development and understanding of math. I have skimed over it and that helped me enough to really want to learn this course. Most all I have talked to recommend it as well.

Arthur Benjamin takes you on a step by step ride until you become yourself a genius. I highly recommend you praise after every chapter and do your own exercises

Very entertaining. Math concepts are explained easily enough but the average person is not going to use this. My boys watched a few lectures and talked about it for about 2 days. If you love math and have plenty of time on your hands than this is great for you. As for adults......you know the saying....."it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks"..... enough said:)

I owned the paperback and decided to buy this video package. It was a pleasant surprise to see how much more comprehensive the video is compared to the book. Arthur Benjamin is right. These ARE secrets and you will be astounded to learn some of them. Younger students who watch these videos (or even just read the excellent book) stand to gain an almost unfair advantage over their peers. If you're a parent I urge you to buy the videos and watch them with your children; even adult children... The lessons start off slowly, and Dr. Benjamin may seem a bit stiff at the outset, but once he gets going you will be amazed, educated and entertained. Don't plan to watch too much in one sitting. When he suggests you pause to practice, stop and do the exercises provided. If you do that, this video package will offer you many evenings of learning and enjoyment together and is worth several times the price. Prepare to love math (even more). Highest recommendation.
