exactly what I was looking for
Fast shipping & this is exactly what I was looking for Thank You! I rarely remember to take the time to leave reviews so I have to really hate something or seriously love something to leave a decent review. I love this so it’s getting 5 stars & a timely review. I have tried more products for melasma than I care to count & this is by far the very best product I have used that makes a significant difference. {melasma sometimes referred to as sun spots, is a common pigmentation disorder that causes light &/or dark brown or blue/gray patches or spots to appear on the skin. It is most often due to past sun exposure/damage & sometimes will start first appearing during hormonal changes such as pregnancy or menopause} I have seen the results of several friends who’ve used other things that worked well for them but when I purchased it would barely work or didn’t work at all for me. This Retinol A cream works wonderfully for me & I highly recommend trying it. I use this specifically for melasma so I don’t use it year round, instead I use it on an “as needed” basis for spot treatment until the desire results are achieved (maybe 2-3 months) & then I stop using it regularly until melasma begins re-appearing again. Depending on the frequency of repeated sun exposure it can be anywhere from 6-18 months of non-use. As far as I know the re-occurrence is normal & expected with using almost any treatment for melasma including many of the more expensive options like chemical peels & lasers etc.I always exfoliate well before starting it & I start by applying on clean skin before bed once every 3 days & then I increase/decrease the frequency depending on how my skin is reacting to it. The more often it is used the more aggressive it works so having some minor flaking or light peeling is expected & normal for me but isn’t more problematic than requires gentle exfoliating & a good moisturizer. If it becomes more of an issue for me I just decrease how often I use it. For me the peeling/flaking is not painful, red, or itchy it’s just annoying so I can’t say that continuing to use it more often would be a problem or that it wouldn’t make it work faster, I just personally prefer to keep any peeling/flaking to a minimum. It also can work faster on some areas than it does for others so I adjust where I’m putting it as well. For example, I can use it on my forehead & nose every other day but I prefer to only use it on my cheeks & chin once or twice a week. While I’m using it as a spot treatment, I typically only apply it all over my face 2 or 3 times a month. After a few weeks of use the melasma isn’t magically totally gone but it has definitely noticeably improved & my skin overall looks & feels better too. With longer term use some of the dark spots are gone & any that remain are much lighter sometimes so much lighter that I can barely see them & a liquid concealer hides them completely. I ALWAYS wear sunblock especially when using this. I have heard that it shouldn’t be used while pregnant or planning to become pregnant but I don’t have any personal knowledge about that. I’ve also heard that it works well for acne but I don’t have any personal experience with that either. Even though I use this specifically for melasma it does have other noticeable benefits as well, within 2 weeks my skin feels softer, & my pores seem smaller, by 4 weeks my skin-tone is more even & fine lines seem reduced
