Q: If this bag is 12x12x6.5 why does the description say it will fit lunch containers as big as 7"l and 6"w?

Because it stretches. The length of the bottom panel is 6.5" but stretches to 7". The width of the bottom panel is 5.5" and stretches to fit 6". Hope that helps. ThanksTroyArt of Lunch

Q: Would this bag fit a typically sized frozen meal box inside?

I don't know what size that is. I can tell you that it fits my 7 inch round by 3 1/4 inch tall Pyrex dish. Hope that helps!
